Newbee question:
I'm new to Riderunner and DigitalFX, so this may be elementary. I have a Viliv X70 with a 7" touchscreen running at 1024X600 (native resolution). I recently upgraded to Windows 7 but I saw this behavior with XP as well.
First, I run my windows taskbar on the left edge rather than the bottom, however when I start RR it either seems to be on top or below the taskbar. I cannot get it to line up with the edge of the taskbar like other maximized windows programs, I'd rather not hide the taskbar as I usually have one or two other programs that I occasionally need to switch to.
Second, I cannot get the RideRunner to occupy the whole screen (ie widescreen). It seems to be running in 4:3 aspect ratio so the right portion of my screen is being wasted. I could really use that space, expecially in the GPS program (Garmin mobile PC). I've tried to change the configuration in the RR config program under General\Page 2. I've changed the resolution in there to 1024X600X32X60 and made the screen aspect ratio to 16:9, but it doesn't seem to effect the program.
I tried searching through the threads but haven't been able to find anything to help me. Please let me know what I'm missing or point me to any place where this has been discussed before.
Thanks.

Welcome to RR & the DFX Skin!
For the most part, RR is usually run as a full screen app. What you can do is to go into the dfx skin folder and open up the general.ini and mess with the XPosition setting till RR is at the edge of the taskbar. While you in there, also mess with the showheigth/width till you find that it fills the rest of your screen. Be aware that changing the heigth/width from the native 800*600 might create some odd screen label placement issues, depending on what you scale the skin at.First, I run my windows taskbar on the left edge rather than the bottom, however when I start RR it either seems to be on top or below the taskbar. I've installed RR and DFX4 and have been playing with it for about 2 weeks. Most of it is working but some of the features just will not cooperate. I am using an old IBM Thinkpad / 1 gb ram with win 2000.
The feature I would most like to get working is freephone. When I try to start it inside dfx4 I get a message that it could not find freephone.jpg. This file is not in the freephone directory. If I start freephone outside of RR it runs but only as a dialer. I do not get handsfree sound through my speakers. I haven't installed a mic yet but plan to as soon as I get this working.
The other feature that looks like it is trying but cannot get there is the movietime app. It starts, says it is getting theater listing but does not find them. Movietime did work inside the carwings skin. I'm sure this is a minor setting change but I cannot find setting to change other than the zip code.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions.
Thanks - that helped me get the display to how I like it. Some of the labels are slightly mis-alligned but I can live with that. Eg the Play/Fwd/Rwd images have become slightly lower in their placement within their buttons. I'm not sure why that hapenned as I did'nt change the vertical resolution - its still 600. I only changed the horizontal resolution from 800 to 1024. But that's no big deal.
I now have another problem. I was trying to change the button arrangement on the main screen by holding the button down till I got the button selection screen and then replacing the button with something else. I replaced my GPS button with something else and then tried to get the GPS button on another location by selecting the Garmin GPS button from the selection screen - however that button does not launch my Garmin Mobile PC. the original GPS button was working just fine before I did this button rearrangement. How do I get it back? I know one option would be to edit the button's themselves, but I'm not comfortable enough with the skin commands to attempt that. Any suggestions?
