Unfortunately Zogg is correct I had planned to have it implemented in this version, but BlueZX3 has still not got the GPS Events finished. Sorry... So when your kids all start complaining, and crying... Just tell them it's BlueZX3's fault.

Currently RR dims only itself.
Will DFX5 now also dim external apps like Garmin?

Its a pain to have a nice dark display at night, then to have Garmin light up the car like a flood light when i switch to it.

Unfortunately the simple answer is no. The dimmer uses a RR overlay (Internal to RR and not controllable by the skin) to put a "5th layer" if you will over the top of RR. By increasing or lowering the transparency, is how the screen brightness is controlled.

This layer is only over RR, so any video or embedded app's will not have this layer on top of them.

gamma dimming should work

Yes, Gamma dimming will work, as well as setting Garmin to auto day/night mode.
