It really depends on where the user is located, and what is available. There is support for Garmin (With an OSK), iGuidance, Map Point & Destinator.

iGuidance is the most tightly integrated of them, with the auto switching screens, shortcuts and such.

Unfortunately there is no perfect GPS application for the CarPC, and we have just made do with what is available as far as embedding and trying to communicate with them.

From what I've seen iGuidance is still on 2009 (over a year out of date), and updates are rare, usually only when a new version comes out. On the rare occasion when there is updated maps you have to pay for them, even if you paid for that version of the software. So as far as I know, the answer is no.

Looking at the bug tracker it appears you guys have pecked away at most of the stuff. Only a few left is that an indication?

Not so sure about that. I asked John about having a contest to pick the release date/time. He said its so close to not bother. I was going to donate $25 in the name of the winner, but here we are 15 days later and still no release.

Dfx gets released when its ready, not before.
TruckPC - gutted, being used for test setup
BoatPC - All in 1 in cuddy, N7 using VNC on dash, RR
    BlazerPC - Nexus 7 with Timur's USBROM

    Short & to the point!

I could only wish that it was, that was only the beta installer, not to mention the things that have STILL been added needing checking. Its going to be a bit yet but...

Don't worry, we've been hard at work, working on this release.

Part of the delay can definitely be blamed on me I made a pretty significant change to the whole menu button layout code, labels, how icon and exec lines are stored ect ect.... (Included removing 256 lines of code from the exectbl.ini alone) The plus side, is a much improved skin start up time as well as one VERY nice side effect of doing it all in this new way

The downfall is it broke the press & hold button chooser, and Blue's GUI button editor to add and remove buttons from the skin. The fix is not really hard, just gonna take a couple of days on just that part though.

I don't think anyone could realize the time put into this skin in the past month! I work on it daily for probably 5-10 hours, as well as Blue does. This does not include weekends when I put much more time in in it when I am off from work! Plus the time that the beta testers are putting in, going through every button, feature, label and such from top to bottom.

In a nut shell, this means it takes time, but it will be as tightly integrated and as bug (Edit: had big instead of bug) free as possible when it is released to the masses.
