Not sure how you can enforce that really. If someone downloads the plugin from you to use with RR how are you going to prevent them from using them with any particular skin?

It can still go on the market place even if you don't charge for it.

My plugins will be up there when I can get around to doing it.

Although I do not agree...
and I understand the time you have put into DFX..
but, I believe this puts RR on a course away from its mantra...
The spirit of RR has always been free, of dollars, not time...
All of these RR developers know that the cost of making RR behave the way you want, is in time spent to learn its magic...
Any skin, even DFX has many more facets to it than the original author...
DFX is a gem and some of those facets are by other authors...
Heck, even RideRunner has many, many authors that make it the app that it is today...
This is the spirit that is RideRunner...There are many front ends out there, but there is only one RideRunner, and it's still free...

I totally respect you as the author of the plugins and all, and that is your decision to make, even if I did help a lot with the coding of both the Youtube plugin, and the WiFi plugin at the beginning.

What I do not quite get, is you are saying that users are not aloud to download and install your plugins manually, and use your plugins if they are using this skin?

Ok, as I mentioned, I am open to all points of view, and I stand by that. Some VERY valid points have been made either for or against the idea.

I did not want to step on any toes, open a can of worms, or start any feuds or bitter feelings, either towards, or between anyone here on the forums.

All that being said, the decision has been made that the skin will be available for download and use ABSOLUTELY FREE, as it always has been.

The only thing that will be different, is a different splash screen will be displayed in place of the normal one when the skin starts. This will not be anything additional to, or different from the way that any RR skin starts now. You start RR, the splash screen displays, and then the main menu appears when RR has completely loaded.

Now, if someone wants to make a donation to remove that splash screen, and use the normal one, or one of their own, you have the option to do that. It is NOT mandatory in any way.

If someone does do not wish to make a donation, no problem, and the skin will work as it always has.

As someone mentioned earlier, yes this will also benefit MP3Car as well, and help with running the store and the forums here that we all use. They take a small percentage of the donation as a fee for running the store, and and hosting the files.

I hope this solution is Ok with everyone.

EDIT: On one last note, please remember the plugin authors when you are looking to make donations. They have put a LOT of time and effort into these features, without which, no skin would be as complete, and as full featured as they are! Sure the skin is what everyone see's, but without the back end of these plugins, ALL skins would have far less capabilities.

like i replied to youre PM, you informed me about YT not working on the AI version when youtube changed once, very long time ago, i did trust you the source for both, YT and wifi, and you did change this and release them on your skin. if finding a bug means helping coding...

Good on ya m8. I hope all the users will be as magnums with their donations as every one has been with their time in developing this gem.

I dont post lots in the forums but have been here for years, I enjoy all the information and have made donations where I see fit. John you should not feel in anyway bothered or uncertain about putting a measly 5.00 price tag on your hard work that goes for all the developers that put out quality product.
