I would imagine the music library need to be set-up a certain way to begin-with. That's where it would go haywire for me 'cause i just download a bunch of singles and put them in a folder; several different artist, several different albums, several different formats (mp3, wma, ogg), some have tags some don't, and to top it off, the folder they are in is called (in some cases) "New Folder1,2,3..etc."

I wonder what RRMedia would do with such a mess..

+1. The database is terrific. That (by Blue) and DFX (by John and John/Blue) are the two most significant and impressive RR developments IMHO.

Blue fixed this in the RR code and it is working as expected with the new RR versions.
Hmm...quite strange. I have the 08/05/2010 release of RR, and it's not working. To answer kbreeden's question, I have the browser in standard mode. I found that the database mode doesn't allow double clicking to start the song with either player, so I put it in standard mode to allow for that. Plus, the database mode puts folder icons next to my songs, which just annoys me. I'm picky about junk like that. Then again, I'm sure if I was a software guy, I could probably figure out how to edit the icon that's showed there.

    I will try that. Thanks.

Gotcha. Looks like I will have to upgrade to the newest version as soon as it comes out. It sounds like a lot of improvements are being made.

I personally highly recommend Winamp as the audio player in RR. It is the most titgtly integrated player out of all of them. Some "power users" may choose to use something else for some specific reason, but I personally use Winamp, and have never had a problem, and everything works as it should. The RRMedia Database, Visualizations, and visualizations with transparency, sorting the playlist ect ect...
Really the audio player I use for RR won't matter to me. The only reason I used WMP thus far is because of that double click thing. The most important thing to me about an audio player is the interface, but in this situation, I won't be seeing the interface, so I really don't care. If you say WinAmp is better to use with RR, I will use that.

So another thing I found is that the flash clocks and logos don't work correctly on the second menu page. Only about a third of the true size displays, and whatever is above and below that amount of the frame is just cut off. I can take a screenshot if necessary. I haven't found a flash clock I like, so I just use the stationary logo, but I figured I'd bring it to your attention.

By the way, when you release 5.0, can you start a new thread for it? I'm sure that I probably repeated some questions already asked, and I promise I did try searching for the answer first, but this thread has so many posts that it's hard to find anything. If a new thread is made specifically for 5.0, then people with problems or questions can post in the new thread, making it easier for everybody, IMO.

That is one of the VERY strong points if RRMedia. It is database driven, and not based on what folders the music is in. (Except for folder view of course) As long as your ID3 tags are correct, it will work. Actually, if you had all of your music in a SINGLE folder, you could still search by album, artist, year with no problems. Again this is all based on your ID3 tags being correct.

For instance, if I search for the artist "Kenny Loggins" It will list all the songs in the artist "Kenny Loggins" folder, songs from the "Top Gun" sound track folder, songs from the "Footloose" soundtrack folder... you get the idea
