If you must know, a Quad Core 3.1 Ghz Pentium i5, with 4 gigs of ram... LOL This is my test machine / desktop.

I do however also have it running on my CarPC which is a 1.6Ghz dual core and it is definitely not as fast, but it is still VERY responsive. under a second from the push of the button to trigger listening, it understanding the command, and the skin changing to the screen asked for. I could not do the demo on that machine, as running the video screen capture recorder software takes a LOT of CPU by itself, and would slow things down just by itself.

Will it work on a 800Mhz Epia board? probably, but its gonna be REAL slow for sure.

I was about to buy that mike but wasn't sure if the USB adapter that comes with it will cancel the echo using phone. I tested with a Logitech USB mike it does not cancel the echo while on a call (the other person at the line hears themselves with a 2-3 seconds delay). The solution was to use a mike connected to input on the build in mobo Realtek ALC-662 sound card, it comes with noise reduction and echo cancel.

John in your opinion, with that Andrea mike do you get echo while on the phone? and how do you use it, with the USB or without it? Thanks for your advise.

I do not use the PC for phone calls. It's just not 100% reliable. I had a Parrot hands free kit in my Eclipse, and it worked great.

Sorry, but the answer to that one, is no. The plugin written by Jebus is made to work with SAPI5. That means Windows 2000, or XP.

The rest of the skin will work fine, just no voice recognition......

    Oh, that's sad.

I wish Mitch and Guino focused more on adding big things like Voice and MediaDatabase to RR instead of those small updates...

Even mitch or guino couldn't make it work as intended in Win7. Its the thing were a app/service is soo old it need to be compleletly rewritten using new technologies and utilizing the current OS features and or HW. SAPI 5 has been around since about W2K days and overdue to be updated, and with that comes incompatibilities...

Now you could run a virt XP inside W7, but that doesn't count as running in W7.
    RideRunner...The #1 FE, PERIOD.

    That's not a good idea.

It will bloat the core and force people to use things they don't want.

having them as seperate plugins gives the user more choice.

At that point, you might as well just format the machine for XP, or do a dual boot. The virtual machine route just wastes resources along the way, and I don't know if it's just my netbook or not, but it takes FOREVER to boot up the virtual machine. You can hibernate Win7 to avoid having to shut down and restart the VM, but even that's not ideal.

I use the VM to test RR, but on the machine I actually plan on putting in the computer, I just have XP as the OS.
