Yes, I was adequately warned. I have now read all the RRVoice threads, downloaded and installed SAPI and am in the process of ordering my mic from mp3car store. Now if I could just figure out how to make a mouse click trigger RRvoice I would be set.

You left out the friend who died in the airplane crash. A couple of years have now passed without incident, so it should be safe to cross paths with John again.

I have the bundled package. It is not as much of a "sound card" as you think of it, but really just a USB input device that the mic plugs into and then plugs into a USB port.
Sorry to be a pain, John, but I'm still confused. Your earlier posted link takes me to this, which clearly refers to an external soundcard and makes no reference to noise cancellation technology. Your review appears under this product and contains a reference to noise cancellation.

There is another bundle in the store shown here, which has an adapter, specifically references noise cancellation and does not refer to a sound card. I believe this is the one Jebus is using based on his earlier post. Are you sure this is not the one you're using? I'm asking this to be sure that I and others who may be relying on your earlier post do not screw up and buy the wrong thing.

Hmmm I see that now, I just called Heather at MP3Car, and they are looking into it. The one I have here, is not like anything that I see in the MP3Car Store now. She is supposed to get back to me soon, and I will pass in the info as soon as I get it.

Or you can donate me a copy of Win7 and I'll write one????
As I was speaking to Heather, She asked about how I see things on the forums going development wise. We got to talking about the RRVoice, and that it will currently only work on XP. I mentioned that to work on Win7 the developer, Jebus, needs a copy of Windows 7 to be able to port it over and make it work.

She said that is exactly the type of thing that the MP3Car grant is for. For those that haven't heard, they put a grant in place to help developers create new app's, hardware, software and such. The grant can be in the form of software, hardware, and even cash in some cases.

So, the bottom line, Jebus, contact Heather at Mp3Car, as she wants to hook you up with a copy of Windows 7 to further develop your plugin.

I think that is really cool that they are doing that to help the community!

Do you have a disasembled mouse or something you want to use in the car? Or a dedicated button on the mouse to trigger it? Either way, I could probably write something real quick, and tiny, to capture a mouse button, and translate to trigger the voice recognition.

    @Kbreeden:

Ok, I just got a reply back from MP3Car:

    Hi John,

This is the mic bundle we sent you: http://store.mp3car.com/ProductDetai...4&Show=ExtInfo

It does include the USB sound card in the picture (but this is not pictured in the product description) and the microphone as well.

    Thanks.

    Stephen
This is the USB device that comes with that mic:

It does not interfere in any way with any sound cards on your system. It adds itself as an entirely different legacy device in device manager.

This way you can use the Andrea with voice recognition, and also can use a mic plugged into your regular sound card for recording something else, such as forward / rear facing camera's without any conflicts between the two.
