Yea, a gesture would be the best way really. Otherwise it would involve trying to find a place for, and put a new button on EVERY single screen in the skin.

There is a "Soft Button" (Added by DaveDog) on many of the screens where there is room for the indicators at the top of the screen. Clicking on the microphone in the top right, will trigger the system to start listening for a command.

When the system is listening, that indicator will turn to a green microphone, as well as the system listening pop-up in the center of the screen.

Wow, 3 posts while I was making the Photoshop of the image in the last post hahaah

@DaveDog: No problem, man sorry to hear about all of the stuff going on! I hope that you are not saying that putting in DFX5 made it the worst and most unstable CarPC you have ever used! Ouch...

Of course the soft key for the mic made it to the release! (See the above post ) As well as your adding code to ALL of the indicators to tap then to either go to the screen for that app, or toggle stuff on and off. For instance, if there is a CD in the drive, and the indicator is on, click it and get a pop up asking if you want to play or eject the CD, Click on the Skype indicator to go to the Skype screen ect ect...

What were the specs on your test machine? I have a Decent motherboard, memory, and CPU here I will gladly donate if you do not get yours back. No case, power supply, hard drives ect... but it would be a start.

And the very coolest thing about the VR Indicator pop up, is that no matter how you trigger it, or where RR is at, minimized or maxed, the pop up still shows up...It just works and works well...

That makes me wonder why RideRunner doesn't support master pages.

In RideRunner, its not called "master pages" but "includes". You can do them, but the skin was not set up in that way from the beginning for everything, so it would be a major overhaul.

The indicators at the top of the page for instance are in a Include. Includes are nothing more that skins in thems selves, that can be used in any other skin.

In the case of the indicators, the IndicatorInclude.txt file contains all the images, code and buttons for the indicators at the top of many of the pages in the skin.

In the skin you want to have them show up in, you simply add the line:

    INC,TopIndicators.txt

This way, by editing just the TopIndicators.txt you can add/remove indicators and thats the way it will be on all skins that include them, and not have to edit each and every skin.

Ok, don't give me too much credit, adding all of the indicator soft buttons wasn't all that much work, just thought it was a good idea, I think I might have another, but really for RR radio in general, dynamic station presets. Probably should send a PM to mitch.

I appreciate the offer, but it sounds like I will be getting my testbed back, and I have plenty of parts laying around to build a few systems, just takes time.

RC2 for my truck system was a huge setback in reliability, but I am running August RR in the truck. I've seen posts in the bug tracker that says Sept. RR is much better, need to find time to rebuild my truck system from Win7 to XP to support voice. My boat system (XP) seemed to be not as unstable with RC2, but boating season is pretty much over now.

My opinion at the moment is to not use Win7 with RR and DFX5 RC2, but I expect that will change with final DFX5 and possibly a new RRVoice.

Maybe the installer should offer the option to not install RRVoice (can't remember if it does) for those that are running Win7 which we know doesn't play nice with RRVoice.

Oh, and by the way split-tails are crazy.

Blue actually setup the installer that way. It checks to see if it is being installed on Win7, if it is, then it skips installing RRvoice.

Nice little script, John. I've been able to play with a bit and have noticed two problems. First, when I click the mouse, it usually gives me a couple of dings rather than one. Sometimes it gives me one, and sometimes it gives me three, but usually it's two. This is no big deal, but it's a bit annoying to hear multiple dings when one is expected.

Second, when opening RR with this script and then closing RR. I often get the following error auto-it error:

    Line 418 File c:\program files\captureclick\captureinput.exe
Error: The requested action with this object has failed

Again, it is a nice little script that does the intended job. It can be kind of nice that the other mouse buttons continue to function while the script is running.
