To all,
RRvoice will not work as released in the skin...
I have corrected John on how it must be set up...
There will be a fix shortly from the DFX team...

In the meantime, The fix is to put the [PATHS] and [SETTINGS] sections of the
C:\Program Files\RideRunner\Skins\DFX5\Plugins\RRVoice\RRVoice.ini
into the
C:\Program Files\RideRunner\Plugins\RRVoice\RRVoice.ini
Your paths may be different...

Only the [COMMANDS] section needs to be in the
C:\Program Files\RideRunner\Skins\DFX5\Plugins\RRVoice\RRVoice.ini

You can also have a [COMMANDS] section in
C:\Program Files\RideRunner\Plugins\RRVoice\RRVoice.ini

I didn't see anyone having a problem with vehicle maintenance plugin, but i just can't open it, i click in maintenance and ....nothing. Maybe because i'm from greece, i have greek windows and the directory "My documents" is in a different language? (greek). ?

Is this why I can't say the song names and have it play the song??
Almost all other commands work for me

atleast....the ones I have tried
so do I need to do this ??? (hopefully I can figure out what I need to do)

I would say yes. Or wait for the update with the fix.

well I tried it, and it still wont recognize the play song or album so and so

my music.ini and song.ini are empty i guess i need to put commands in them
but how...hopefully not manually???
never mind i found the config exe

Is there an up to date install procedure for RR/DFX5.0 anywhere?

The most relevant thing I've found seems to be this this post by Guino, but it's over two years old now. Are the recommended plugins all up to date or has anything been superceded?

On the the procedure for building the music/media database. Guinos post suggests install winamp first, does that mean I build the library in winamp before installing rr/dfx? Or should I do that from within dfx, is the winamp media library even used, or is that handled by RRMedia? Again there's the RRmedia plugin thread but the last update to the parent post was over a year ago. From my lurking in the dfx4.0 thread I'm assuming rrmedia is integrated with dfx by now I just can't find the specifics.

I only ask because my last install was plagued with databse problems despite following Guinos list to the letter and I suspect it must have been something I did wrong wrt setting it up. Playlist would never resume, if I loaded 5* rating playlist the song information on the main page wouldn't update/was wrong until I opened the player skin and then playlist skin.

I hope this doesn't come off as a lazy post as I have tried to find the answers myself but wading through hundreds of pages with the uncertainty that you're even in the right thread; (the elusive one in which the solution was covered over a couple of posts out of hundreds) is more than a little daunting!

edit: Okay here's what the plan is so far, I've got latest RR build, flash player, dfx5.0, winamp 2.95.
Not sure which .NET I should be installing, 4.0?

For voice recognition SAPI5, SpeechSDK51MSM.exe (131.5MB) is that the correct file?

hey andy here is a link to the newest RR RR 09-01-2010 Release
you would just build the data base with rr it is all upto date in dfx5
better get newer winamp

The reason for 2.95 was I found a thread, can't find it now, comparing the players and 2.95 had a lower overheard than 5. Is that still the case or will I be losing functionality.

Also should I install Winamp Library or is that going to conflict with rrmedia?
