Or it could be in the help file.

Exactly my point, which is why I do my own audio/video installations...To avoid roadblocks like this!!! I have my video system(7" touchscreen in the dash and 2 9" headrest monitors) set up to function also independent of the PC(plugins only apply when using the PC....which in my case are unnecessary!). Message me and let me know what type system you have. If it is a stand alone unit(as I suspect it is), I will tell you what wire to disconnect(cut) on the unit. Remember that it is illegal, so I will not post the "how to" on here....trying not to violate forum policies, which I have inadvertently done on at least 3 occasions!!!

So, basically, you're saying that as far as you're concerned it's preferable to waste everybody else's time and clutter up the thread rather than spending a minute or two in the help file finding the answer?

Of course not. It is always wiser and faster to use the local source of information(Help Files) first. What I was saying was that sometimes(at least in my experience) the help files really don't help much if you really don't know what you are doing...one wrong move...BAMM...now you got to get your system back up and running(worse case scenario of course), or flat out just don't understand what you are reading in the help file, so its useless at that point anyway. Calm down soldier...its not that serious!

Glad to see it's at least near the front of your mind these days.

And it seems that in typing that response, you are doing the same thing.

Last I knew, this was handled by a plugin called MotionLock, but that was years ago. Just dropping info that might help. Also, look into GPSLockOut.

Well, your answer works if we're not talking about RideRunner. HUs that have the lockout would definitely be different. I'm guessing that RideRunner is including this plugin and enabling it by default since they are now a commercial software.

What makes you think I'm not calm? What I am is frustrated that people are not going to the trouble to read the help file. Imagine in the midst of a discussion about the importance of reading the file, someone posts a question about disabling the video lockout, the answer to which couldn't be more clearly set forth in the help file and which spawned a couple of totally irrelevant and unnecessary posts about cutting wires.

Folks, do yourselves and the forum members a favor and read through the help file supplied with the skin. It is very informative. It will likely answer many questions you already have and will answer others that you don't even yet know you have. John has also gone to the trouble to add system tweaks that can help your system run better.

kbreeden, you have been around long enough that you should know about this. Long time RR users are used to not having any type of help file. It's still a really new thing (and a great freakin idea!) that's taken a while to catch on. When messing around with RR, I still don't think to look into the help file, in my brain there is still none. Cut 'em a little slack.

I was definately talking about HARDWARE not software(RideRunner)....plus I thought this thread was about the DFX5 skin as a whole....not just about the help file. kbeeden needs to understand lots of us are still rookies asking rookie questions using rookie protocol, which will and always will aggravate the vets like himself!!!

Recommendation: Post help file as a separate d/l. I only say this because I ONLY have skin installed in my car and I can't read it on my screen while I am driving
A separate link would be cool.
