DFX5 [Released 09/29/10]

Well after many delays, it is finally ready for download!

FIRST and foremost, MANY thanks to the bets testers, they did a FANTASTIC job catching most of the bugs and problems, so we could fix them:

NOTE: ElCamono has asked that his plugins not be used in the DFX5 skin. I have removed the plugins from the skin. You will need to download & install the plugins and get them working yourself if you intend on using them. I must also further note though, that he has told anyone that is using the DFX5 skin, that they are not aloud to use his plugins in any way. So if you do, do so at your own risk.

NOTE: The skin is 100% free, however there is an option to donate $9.95 in the app store. As a thank you for your donations, you can download a patch that will remove the generic splash screen when the skin starts up, and replace it with one that more matches the look and feel of the skin. You will also be able to replace the splash screen with any graphic of your choosing.

The skin has incorporated Jebus's RRVoice plugin, allowing you to speak just about anything you see on any button throughout the skin. You will also be able to play your music with commands such as:
"Play Artist Journey"
"Play Album Greatest Hits"
"Play Song Separate Ways"
"Next Track"
"Previous Track"
"Skip Forward" (30 second jump)

The list of features in the skin is extensive, and I will edit this post and add them in the next day or so.

Please consult the help file that was installed in the skin before asking questions in the thread. It is a very in-debth guide on how to use the skin, alter settings, and hidden features and functions. The help file is located in ~\RideRunner\Skins\DFX5\HelperFIles\. It can also be accessed right from the start menu in the DFX folder Tree.

How do you keep DFX from beeping every time I push a button?

In the DFX skin folder, open the exectbl.ini and find these lines: (Line #34)

Simply put a / in front of the line to comment it out, like this:

save the file, and no more beeps when buttons are pressed.

How do I get the voice recognition to work?
Open the KeyTbl.ini file in the main RideRunner folder in notepad. Put this line in that file:
192,"RRVCON"

This will set the ` key (The key to the left of the number 1 on the keyboard, and above the TAB key)
When you press that key, the system will start to listen.
To use a button to activate the voice, you can use any hotkey program, Girder, iBus interface, JoyCon connector, serial Connectors, a mouse, and tons of other ways to fire the RRVCON command.
Note: You also have to have SAPI5 installed on your system, and train your voice profile to recognize your voice. There is tons of documentation on the web on how to do this.

I donated for the DFX5 splash screen patch, and can not download it.
MP3Car staff is looking into any trying to fix any issues. The server is also a bit buys, as over 8 gigs has been downloaded since 7am this morning.
In the mean time, try using Fire Fox if you can, as the problem, till it is fixed, appears to be with Internet Explorer.
NOTE: After donating, the purchase is recorded, and you can download as many times as you like. Only one patch is needed for all the machines that you have the skin installed on

I am not seeing any maps for the National Forecast or Temperature maps.
Press and HOLD either the "National Forecast" or "Temperature Map" to load the maps from the Internet. The + symbol seen on any button through out the skin means it has a second function when pressed and held.

Google Earth shows nothing except buttons at the bottom.
Google Earth needs to be installed, and the path set to its location in the DFX5\Skin.ini file

Gas Prices shows me the screen but nothing is populated.
The Gas Plugin needs to be downloaded from Enforcers page, and then installed & setup.

I can not get the traffic cameras to work.

Known Issues and bugs: (Working on them)

• Sirius and XM screens not showing the lists: Fixed for next release
• Std Splash screen blinding at night: Fixed for next release
• Std splash screen has a price of 4.95 verse actual 9.95 price: Fixed for next release
• "Listening" graphic does not work for me when using RRvoice: Fixed for next release
• When issuing a RRVoice command, the top indicator doesn't work: Fixed for next release

Tips

- Any button in the skin that has a + on it, means that that button is "Dual function" pressing and HOLDING that button will trigger the second function.

- Internet Radio Labels can be turned on in the skin in the GLobal settings screen. NOTE: They will never be perfect, as thee is no standard that every station uses for formatting of Artist, Title Ect

- Pressing and HOLDING any main menu button, or Weather preset button will allow you to change the function of that button

Yes, mine works. DFX5 :heh: (I'm using Alpine skin since 2005 :rofl:).
