Liquid Smoke - would just like to say yor skin is brilliant!! Its now my No.1 favourite RR Skin. The brushed metal skin was starting to have too many button that I will never use such as Radio, Sat Radio, TV, RIP etc. Yours is much more appropriate to my needs. Thank You!

I would like to ask a small question if I may. When GPS is active and I am in audioplayer mode, it shows the speed in KM/H. Is it possible to change it to show the speed in MPH instead? I am currently using FreeDrive and am UK based.

I have got the N64 Emulator working too. Do you know if it is possible to stretch the window size of the emulator so it it fills the screen horrizontally? My screen resolution in the car is 800 x 480.

the format that the speed is shown is set in RRConfig.exe
GPS Settings> uncheck "International Standard Units"
note that the display will show Mi/h Miles/hour instead of the more common MPH but they are both the same.

the Game sceen is still VERY, VERY, VERY beta. Things just dont work the way i want them to yet. One of the problems with the N64 emu is that is dosent really like its window to be resized.
For now, take a look at this thread

Play music, go to main menu and see play buttons on bottom.
Go back to audio player and pause music, go back to main menu, no play buttons on bottom. Thats it.

I have noticed a few things in setting it up and using it that you may want to complile into a Frequently Asked Questions Section.

1. If one either uses the default clock.fla (which if the VW emblem) or another car manufactrurers emblem that was downloaded from the appropriate site then there is a noticeable difference in the brightness of the emblem flash file when it is dispalyed on the interface so it creates a kind of light rectangual box around the flash emblem and clock representation.

This is only perceptable if one is running 16 Bit Color (65 K Colors)

Resolution: Switch to 32 bit Color (16.7 million Colors) and there is no perceptable difference in brightness of the chosen clock.fla file.


2. On the secondary menu that is displayed after one presses the lower left hand Menu Button (which is ingenous ! BTW) the last choice on the left at the bottom - Mispelling. GAMA is what is present , but it is spelled GAMMA (with 2 M's)

Resolution: ReSpell it the correct way and release an update that encompasses the fix

3. If one has the settings under Start>Control Panel>Display>Settings> Advanced Button > General Tab Under the Display DPI settings set to anything besides NORMAL (which is 96 DPI ) Dots per inch then the included fonts for the skin will display too large and not fit into the transparent areas within the skin for DATE (upper right side) and the Weather Panel Readout will also be affected and not display all of the proper text.

Resolution : Negotiate to Start>Control Panel>Display>Settings> Advanced Button > General Tab and set to NORMAL - Insert the Windows XP CD to copy the necessary files if prompted and then do a full reboot of the system.


I am sure that I will have a few more items to add and I hope these are constructive points that can be added to some sort of reference. Actually it would be pretty great to have a HELP button on the interface that just brought up a file of FAQ's (Freaquently Asked Questions)

I can help you complile these for inclusion if necessary?


I am still working on getting IGuidance and Skinbedder working and I am sure it is something with the path that I have set and the location that SkinBedder is installed in as well as the Window name. Can someone rattle off those settings as I may have missed them in my first read through.

1. i noticed that too, now that you said it, but who runs at 16bit? Even your car deserves 32bit
Im not sure what that is, but the funny thing is (at least on my box) if the logo is visible when i change to 16bit, i dont notice ANY difference at all. But if its not visible when i switch, i can see it, and it wont go away when i switch back to 32bit.
I have to reload RR to get rid of it.

2. WOW, i never even noticed that. 305 replies, 15,945 views and no one else saw it either. Ill fix that for the next update.

If you run into any problems with setting up GPS, read post number 279, that should help you out with any issues.

As for the faq, there is allready a manual of sorts that im making, there is a link to it on the first post, but you can PM me any additional info.

no, the only screen that changes depending on if you have music playing or not is the main menu. Im sorry, i still dont really understand what you mean by "is it an editing job". The IG skin and external GPS are one and the same.

When I DL'ed it I was sure there was seperate IG screens. Because they had different buttons on the two. Or maybe I downloaded extras for your skin that changed things somewhat.
When I go into skin editor on your standard Ext GPS some of the controls have different tooltip and code information. I just pressumed they were dual function buttons (function depending on current RR status).

Thanks for all your assistance but it doesn't matter now because I've been playing and I've created my own Ext GPS page which better suits my personaly needs it sort of matches LS3.0 and integrates FDreedrive commands into RR instead of using a Freedrive skin. The map is now pretty much fullscreen .....

i dont know if what you speak even exist, a button that changes its code? RR has switch labels but afaik, none of the buttons can change to another button. What happened most likely is you did download the freedrive addon, and it does replace the IG files.
