well thats kind of exactly what i said i would do if i had the time, split the 5 days up into seperate days and you just page through each day, that way you can see more info clearly. There is a ton of weather data there too, im not sure how much of it is actually needed, but its good to have it to pick through and choose whats important.

There's a modified IG skin somewhere that works well. And if people already have FD boadcasting data to RR anyway they will work in your skin. Zots thread in RRskins has the IG->FD skin there to compare with. If you do do one though, could you try and keep the actual map window as large as possible as some skins make it vertically very narrow which isn't good for seeing whats coming up on the map.

im assumeing FD is the same or updated version of MapMonkey? I havent used either but they look very cool. They both use destinator correct?
At some point ill take a look at those options and see how much effort ill have to put in to make them happen and make a decision at that time. But if i do, do it, you can rest assured the gps window will be a nice big size, i absolutely hate having to squint or stare at something to make it out. BIG is BETTER! esp for navigation in a car.

yeah, ive been meaning to start this skin for a long time, but never could find the time to do it (way too busy). Almost wasnt going to even do it when the zots skin came out (close to what i wanted) but i have a fetish for grey tones and metal.

heres a quick how to skin FD..

use the external_gps.skin and add your normal vol up/down track prev/next time etc..

then to embed FD just use the A01,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx and also do a matching C01,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx underneth.

Thats about it really. You can then either do a matching skin in FD, or if you wish add buttons to the rr skin. These buttons then send messages to FD. There are loads of buttons you can add if you wish.. for example

view2d - changes to 2d view
view3d - changes to 3d view
viewbirdseye - changes to birdseye view
day - changes to day skin
night - changes to night skin
address - shows the address input page
history - shows the history page
favorites - shows the favorites page
home - goes to the address in favorites called 'HOME'
cancel - returns to the main screen
clear - clears current route and returns to the main screen
toggleview - changes view between 2d - 3d - birdseye
swapskin - swaps between day and night
quit - ends FreeDrive
+ more in the readme

to send a message to FD, just add this line to your .skin
B,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,"SENDMSG;FreeDrive;toggleview" this will swap views when you press the button.

You can also get info from FD so you can display it on ANY skin in RR. So say you want your speed on the menu.skin . Add a label like this
L,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,rrr,ggg,bbb,ft,"LCD2:B","CUSTOMF DSPEED","CENTER"
you will also need to tell FD to send this info to RR, so in FD's folder, there is a sdk.ini file. Open this and next to 'FDSPEED=' change it to 'FDSPEED=RoadRunner' this will then tell FD to send its speed to RoadRunner every second.

Thats about it really, not to hard :-)

yeah, sounds like its exactly like doing the IG skin screen except you can have data on any screen wich is very cool. Dosent seem like it should take any olympic effort so i would have to say at this point its very doable.

how much do people care about XM/FM and TV?
I never use any of those functions, as i still use my HU for FM and XM and i still dont get the purpose of TV in the car unless you got kids in the back.

So far without those elements the skin is 90% done, the other 10% being finishing off the weather and doing the CDRIP screen. Oh and the MM/FD (are these both the same thing?) support so make that 85%, although i may release MM/FD as an addon, i dont know.

if you rls the main skin without and pll complin then either make it or rls the psds if im like anyone else here im anxiosly awaiting this skin and dont care about those screen being included.

Very nice skin, L_S. I love Zot's skin but this one will be closer to what I want.

I personally don't want TV or XM/FM support, so I agree with lostreception that you shouldn't hold up the skin for them.

I do want weather support, and I plan to use Mappoint for my GPS program, so hopefully you can support that as well.
