LSX (VOID) released

Yes LS, I would like for you to add support for mobile emulator. Maybe one of the free buttons can lead me to it so I can launch the custom one from main menu. Also, I looked and cant find how to activate gpsgasfinder. Is there a button in the skin for this yet?

it dosen't support gpsgasfinder but instead the native RR gas
just choose "GAS" from the custom button command screen (screen2) and your done.

ill try to squeeze mobile emu in the update, if not ill post it as an add on.

Hi LS, thanks for this nice skin, I've been searching for a good looking skin that does not use too much CPU resource (compared to flash based one) and I guess this is the one I'm looking for

however, I'm still not be able to get it to work after I followed the readme, FAQ, and did a bit of search.

I'm not sure if this has been covered before, and here is the problem:
(using a decent version of RR and the LSX 1.6 patch1 installed)

After I did all the settings and start up RR, all the customizable buttons do not work (including Audio, Video, Navi, EXT, etc). only the volume buttons and the play button work.

I have copied the button setting to RR.ini and I can customize those buttons, I dont have the ExeTBL.ini in my RR root folder coz I tried the skin on a fresh installed RR.

I also tried the debug function in RR and I found that it does execute commands.

any help would be appreciated.

post your debug.txt file here
first open it and clear all the data, then load RR and click on the buttons that do not work, close and post the file.

have you edited the ExecTBL.ini file in any way?

you didn't install only the patch did you? The patch is not a full install of the skin (just making sure)

The only thing that will prevent the buttons from working is if you have
"ONSKINSTART" command located in the ExecTBL.ini that is in the root of RR.

what is the version number (date) on the splash screen when RR loads?

A few post up is a link to a file "LSXVOID_DEFAULT_SETUP.exe"
grab that and run it.

thanks for the quick reply.

I didn't edit the ExeTBL.ini that come with the skin, and I've searched "ONSKINSTART" string within the entire folder of RR and it came up with "ADD TO RR.ini.txt" in LSTOOLS and "ExeTBL.ini" "Readme.txt" in SKINS\LSXBOID1.5 (it create LSXVOID1.5 folder when I install 1.6

)

yeah, I installed the LSX 1.6 then the 1.6 patch1, the I've also tried both 2006/09/05 and 2006/09/12 (supplied from FreeDom 2.1 skin) version of RR, both didn't work.

the attachment is my debug file after the LSXVOID_DEFAULT_SETUP.exe

(looks like it changed the lock button to config button), btw I use a non-eng windows

I've clicked on Audio, Video, Navi, DVD, PHONE, and Volume +

your debug looks fine and i can see that RR is setting up all the buttons.
There are some odd characters in the debug file.

I think your issue is that your using a non english OS, i think someone else had this problem also and they were also using non english windows. I cant remember what they did to fix it but it was a setting somewhere in RRConfig.exe

what language OS are you running?

Hi LS,

I'm using traditional chinese version windows, I play around with the Locale setting in RRConfig, it actually fixed the font problem (displayed numbers instead of indicators), but still no luck with the buttons

Thanks Guino but as I posted, I was currently looking at the High CPU FAQ. It helped a little but I ended up just having to kill visuals. I'm starting to not like my M10000 and thinking about getting a newer mobo down the line. I got my CPU way down and it works great now as long as visuals are off. So it's good for now. Thanks. Just tweaking it now...

you prob want to take a look at the settings in winamp for your visuals.
load winamp standalone and start the visuals, rightclick on the vis window and choose avs editor>Settings>Display

options that redude the cpu load of the visuals are

Pixel doubling
windowed performance

you should be able to get it to a level that your M10000 can handle
