Thread: LSX (VOID) released

I just noticed the availablity of INC (include) statements in RR, are you going to use these in your next release? I think that would make working on it much easier for everyone. Especially for stuff like the top of the screen where a lot of people (I'm assuming) want to put in system and external sensor readings. It always seems like there's a screen I missed. Even if you just hit the repetitious stuff as you see it, the code would probably shrink fast.

i do use the INC file but currently im only using it for all the text colors in the skin, not font type or scale, just colors. I do plan to expand it but only on things that really call for it. Its easy to add stuff to the INC file, but moving items from every .skin file to the INC file is a pain cuz there are over 120+ .skin files so a lot of checking on every screen to make sure the search and replace didnt screw up is almost as bad as doing it by hand.
Ive never seen anyone say they wanted the into at the top be external sensors? What type of sensors? Currently the top area displays your heading, phoco bat and signal meters, gps speed, and online indicator and in the update will add voice indicator for when iGuidance is speaking.

Unfortunately, editing these items is not a simple command swap, cuz they use multiple object types, sliders, labels, indicators etc. The good thing though is if you dont use any of them, none of them will display except the gps speed. So for example, if you dont want the gps speed or heading you could turn this feature off in RR and place a label ontop of all the others and that would be the only thing that displayed.

Also a lot of the time saving features of RR that have just come online, like the INC file are great, but since the dev of this skin is sooooo deep that it takes a lot of work to implement these features on a huge scale.

I do plan on making more skins (if i can ever overkill this one) that would give me a good chance to use those items more frequently.

alright.. this might have been covered in the past 79 pages but I searched and did not come up with any results..

anyway, today I was setting up iG3 and it starts up and picks up the signal but the problem is that it's not "embedding" the iG windows withing the skin... iGuidence goes straight to full screen and I cannot see RoadRunnder under it... how can I fix this?

Usually I wind up stripping all the indicators at the top out besides GPSSPD, making GPSSPD bigger and white, and adding in readings from internal and external temperature sensors. I did notice that all the phoco stuff wasn't showing on the last release though, which was nice. But I was thinking that if there were a header and footer for each screen, I would probably add more since it would only be a few files to setup the whole skin.

ill give it a little thought and see if there is an easy way for me to move the stuff around.

Ok.. well here is a screen shot of my GPS options in the RRConfig..that's pretty much all my GPS setup

then like I said, when I go into LSX and press NAVI, IG3 loads up but full screen and RR behind it..

also, I noticed that when I return from Hibernate, iGuidence does not want to pick up the GPS signal and says "make sure you connect your receiver" or something like that and I have to restart the whole PC to get it working

anyway, here's also the RR.ini

Emo,

Looks like you spelled the window name wrong. Change it to iGuidance and see if that works. Or you can go into rr.ini and change gpsname=iGuidance

try adding
ignative=True to your RR.ini

also, i notice your RR.ini looks very light. A lot of things arent setup or missing. It shouldnt cause this issue, but something you may want to look into.
The only other thing i would ask is what version of Road Runner are you running?
