you can also create a subfolder in this dir for it and configure winamp to only use that subdir if you want in the visual config options under preset/hotkey.
Also, activate it by choosing AVS in RRConfig.exe as the visuals

you have to also be running winamp 5.x, I highly recommend 5.13 you can find it at www.oldversion.com

hello. I'm kinda new to the software side of the carpc scene. I think all of my hardware is ready to go..

anyway, I think i've decided to go with an nlited winxp pro, road runner front end, and your skin looks awesome.

a couple of Q's:
I noticed in the previous post, you recommend winamp 5.13. any reason why that version specifically and not the latest? should we use "full" or "lite" versions of winamp 5.x?

Which GPS application should I use? it looks like iGuidance. What version? 2.x? 3.x? digging around on my PC, it looks like I have 2.1 and 3.0

I can't wait to get started. I have the next couple of days to devote to this project, so you'll probably hear more from me soon

ls - thanks so much. i was using the older 2.95 version which i think may have been the problem. I'll give it a go tomorrow.

mattress: i highly recommend iguidance 3 from what i've seen. i couldn't be happier with it.

IG 3 is better.

and you want to use version 5.13. some of the 5.x versions have bugs in them with RR and LSvoid. and you cant use 2.95 because you will have problems getting the visuals and a few other things working. Make sure when you load winamp 5.13 you run it in classic mode or youll still have some issues.

Ok, I'm hoping someone can help me out with this... I put the three spectrum files in the /plugins/avs folder and those are now the only three in there.

I chose avs as the visualization option in winamp and also in config.exe.

For some reason, when I load up the skin, it uses milkdrop and has the window setontop so I can't see anything below it. What am I doing wrong?

As a side note, I can't click configure in Winamp to try to specifically select one of the spectrum analyzers. When I click config I just get the avs about box.

oh man, i just downloaded RR, and ran the config.exe ... a bit overwhelming lol

yeah there is a extremely large amount of work done/being done, and with the next update probably being the biggest since i released the skin. So stay tuned for that.

Make sure you have AVS checked in RR config and save it to exit. The avs visual is the only one set to be transparent (milkdrop is not transparent). Check out this post about transparent settings...

LSX (VOID) released

To access AVS in winamp run winamp and click on the infinity button in the top left. Go down to visualization and click on select plug-in. Select Advanced Visualization Studio V 2.81b [vis_avs.dll]. The "configure plug-in" option can only be used once you have a visualization running and will only configure that particular visual.

Yeah, I'm using a sandisk extreme III compact flash card as my boot device, and I'm trying to conserve space!

I'm going to try and sit down today and get something accomplished. I guess I chickened out yesterday when I saw the RRConfig screen. Wow. LOL
