Rather than going thru all the other stuff - here is what the skinny appears to be. That Winamp/Plugin works just fine --- does not work in RR when (I have the ShowRes set to 800x600) which I need. So on my test box, laptop native res is 1280x768. When I do a Show of 800x600 in the RR.INI all is stretched, all is good (but this does not display ..... ODD!).

However - if I use the show at the native skin-res, and there is gap below on my PC (meaning desktop exposed). You can indeed see the Plugin does work and comes in at the proper location as it should, but this res does not do a fill. This may work on my CarPC which is a lesser Res.... but ?

LS - this was an EXCEPTIONAL FIND!!!!!!!!!! If you guys have some ideas let me know. I am using the SATAN VIS with Winamp and works great with this setting, and thought perhaps there was a confilict - but not.

ive had this problem in the past with other apps that want to be on top of the screen.
I hvent tested toaster in the car yet, only on my laptop so it never goes fullscreen.
One thing you can do, is set the skin to be 800x599. It will leave a 1pixel line where your desktop will show through, may or may not be visible depending on your screen and color of your wallpaper.

also in the toaster settings under Display there is a setting "Disable during fullscreen". You may want to try unchecking this (if its checked).


In th future, guino said he was going to add options for RR to be either ON TOP, ON BOTTOM , or NORMAL WINDOW so im looking forward to that for a few other things that i need to be ontop.

my observations:

. i LOVE the customizable buttons, its made skin editing so much easier. i love being able to have the features i use the most on the main screen, with the rest tucked in later.

. Art Rage support is cool, too bad im too cheap to buy their full version, lol.

. iG3 mod gave me a few issues at first, with iG crashing on me. After a couple reinstalls it seems ok, and works fine in the car too.. so im not gonna mess with it until it breaks again.
The mod itself is amazing, skin blends in nicely.

. iG Menu is wicked. I dont always have my gps screen on, but still use the voice guidance, this is perfect for that. if only there was a way to open iG with a window_hide parameter, so that you dont have to switch to it, and then switch back to use the menu for the first time. maybe something to think about ?

. The winamp plugin is awesome! absolutely love it. it didnt show up at first, but a little tweaking with the plugin parameters did got it up and running. i think i had to uncheck "disable when in fullscreen" to get it working properly.

. it would be cool if we could figure out a way to have that plugin show up only in particular screens, for eg. the GPS screen, as the other menus (i.e main,audio) already have the track information. i dont know we could go about doing this, but it would be cool. eventually, it'll be better to support this natively in RR/LSX Void 2.0 so that we dont have to use a winamp preset.. still tho, its very cool.

. im still unsatisfied with the video player, but thats more of an RR issue than the skin. just dont like the way it loads the list, and i had trouble playing ".vob" files... media player classic standalone can play those fine. i had it setup such that every time i go into the video player, one of those THX / Dolby demo videos starts up... just for the coolness factor

Btw, I'm having trouble browsing the videos BAA... audio BBAA works fine. any leads on this ?

. took me a while to get the system manager/copy tool working right. system manager 5.x always gave me a runtime error.. the included exe would give me a blank screen. finally got it working fine with Copy Tool 3.x. Its nice, im just trying to figure out a way to skin it ala background images, like in the 5.x release. it'll be nice to use the LSX Void menu background on that, instead of a black bkgrnd.

in all, great release LS !
what fixes are u planning in your patch so far ? (hint - add playlist sorting options like in CFX skin ! )

ok.. I got some time to play with some of the settings and setup while the wife was in shopping.

I must say What you did with IG3 is wicked cool. I dont know any other way to say that. simply awesome work man. I have uninstalled IGmon untill theres something made for IG3. adding the functionality for auto zoom, page switching and audio mute will be a nice edition, but thats later down the line

I was able to find your paint program easily. it works pretty good standalone, but im getting an error when it tries to load it and embed it., it shows 2 splash screens for the program and nothing else. the program never loads past that.

i was not able to get the toaster plugin to work no matter how I tried. I couldnt even get it to work outside of RR with just winamp running. I Was able to get the toadter itself to work but not the LSX plugin. Ill play with it some more tomorrow since it seems other people have gotten it to work.

Other then that everything is working. I will not that at night the welcome message says good night like its tucking me into bed. lol maybe this should say Good evening, but lol what do i know. regardless I look forward to future updates, especially the RRmobile plugin support. I cant wait till thats finished

more custom buttons will come in future updates, where they make since.

the full version of ArtRage dosent offer too much more than the free version, if you do art seriously you will want the full version, which allows saving to PSD files with layer support so you can edit everything in Photoshop. But its a pretty cool app, and for its price/features you cant beat what it does. The only other painting app i know that has real paint mixing is Painter.

I think some of the stuff that IG2 leaves around is causeing issues with IG3, quite a few people in the GPS section have had to reinstall IG3 to get it to behave, even those without any mods. In the same boat myself, was gonna do a reinstall tonite if i had the time. Babysitting renders is taking too much time.


i had to tweak it a lot too, for something so simple it has a lot of tweaking involved. Most of the tweaks get saved with the presets but still some to do to get it just right the way u want.
U guys should play with the transitions and fade/hold times. I cant remember how i set it up in the preset anymore, but i have mine slide in real fast, then hold for 2 sec, then fade away.
I think something like this possibly could be done in RR, maybe even without any code changes. I like the options the plugin gives you though for the transition times, you can tweak it be just right.
I wish you could get it to only show on certain screens also, this also maybe possible too with maybe disable the plugin when you go to a specific screen, then reenable it when you leave. Not sure if you can toggle winamp plugins on/off easily but i'll be looking into it. Sounds like a job for autoIT


as for playlist sort functions, i think all those fancy playlist features are limited to flash only. So unfortunately they likely wont be in LSX. I have a bunch of small ideas i want to implement but sadly they require flash.

I think you can disable the splash screen, i dont think i ever see it. I cant find where u turn it off now, but i just ran it and no splash so somewhere u can turn it off.
Also, you want to create a default file and save it in the applications dir.
change the paper to be black, save and name it default.ptg My command in RR looks to load this file. I wish you could just save black paper as the default paper color.

the toaster plusin may or may not be dependant on what version of winamp your running. Not sure. Im running winamp 5.1x and wont upgrade it any higher as all those versions have issues with RR. Not sure if it works with winamp 2.x versions. Just incase you have an old winamp, that may be something to think about too.
It does take a little tinkering to get it to work just right though.

I actually had a good evening welcome message, i think i deleted/overwrote it by mistake or seomthing. I was thinking the same thing though, it kind of felt like i should be leaving when i see it say good night. Ill prob change it in the patch.

Once the RRMobile plugin fully works, there will be support for it. Hopefully, ill be able to reuse the phoco screens i have and just change the label code and button commands (crosses fingers). Then it would give me a good enough reason to update the graphics on the phoco screens. Not sure if anyone noticed, but the on state for the buttons in phoco are different than everywhere else. They are the original onstate color, i change it a few releases back, not sure if anyone noticed that though.

I made this suggestion in the RRMobile thread. I don't know if he'll actually make it work so that we can use phonco skins, but I hope so.

I was playing with vis stuff befor the release trying to get it to change the size of vis window on the fly, but didnt work out too good, its possible that maybe some of those settings were left behind. I'll double check it.
There is a small patch comeing soon anyway, so if any fixes are needed in that area it'll be in there.

OK would be nice to have visuals working again, cuz it's so cool hehe. When I started up the skin today, the visual box in the main screen is showing in the right place under the song title, but with the winamp border. The winamp player is also showing over the skin. But and as soon as I click on the skin itself the visual window and winamp player disapears, probably just goes behind the skin. As I mentioned I haven't done any changes to winamp(v5.0), and when I open the old skin everything is ok...

i really dont know what to say, ive looked everything over and i cant see anything that would cause this for you. Although there is something the skin dosent like cuz as you say it works if you switch to the old version. But you seem to be the only person having this problem. Its probably something really simple just being overlooked.

Send me (post in here) your RR.ini, ExecTBL.ini in Root of RR, exact full version number of winamp, version date of RR (date you see when RR starts up). That should be enough to figure it out.

also, some other things i would like you to check.

Do the visuals work in audio player screen? They should appear where the album art is.
also check the secondary menu screens, when you click the big arrows on the main screen, then turn visuals off/on.
And also, if you click and hold the date, it will take you to another screen.
No visible buttons on this screen. Very top area turns visuals on/off, very bottom area exits the screen.

let me know if any of these work for you.
