Also, I dont know if this is normal or not. When RR first opens the avs window pops up in front of RR, and them imbeds. Is there a way to make it default to behind RR so I dont see it before it embeds? This is purly cosmetic.

this was left out of the read me by mistake, i posted about it a few pages back but even i dont want to search for it so i wont tell u to do that.

Load ArtRage standalone, change the paper color to black then save the file as "default.ptg" inside the install dir for ArtRage. That will fix the error about opening the requested file. This is done so it fits in better with the look of the skin, plus the bright white blinds me at night. If you dont want to do this, or want the paper color to be white. Open ExecTBL.ini found inside the skins folder, find the line that starts with "PAINT" and edit it to look like this
    Code:
    "PAINT","LOAD;paint.skin;RUN;C:\Program Files\Ambient Design\ArtRage 2\ArtRage.exe;ArtRage"

As for the avs window poping up in front of RR before it embeds, this is normal behavior and only guino can change this. What you can do though...
Winamp by default allways opens the vis window in the last postion you physically moved it to with your mouse. On your desktop if you open winamp stand alone, start the vis and move the window far outside of the RR window, close winamp and start RR, then the vis will allways open up first offscreen then just show up in RR nicely.
Problem is, it'll be pretty hard to move the window off screen in your car.
What you could try is set the windows relsolution to something higher than whatever res your using, then move it as far off to the side as possible. Change the res back and hope that winamp dosent notice the window is offscreen and move it somewhere else.

    Couple things:

    1) What's the "correct" way to use the powerdvd skin for DVDs in this skin? For right now I just renamed it to External_DVD.skin and it came up, but didn't know if there is a setting somewhere that does that, didn't see anything in any of the .ini files.

    2) Kinda related to the above... I already downloaded the rr.exe that fixed the issue with the video controls not hiding when watching a video and now it's working, but when watching a DVD (see above, I'm using the powerDVD skin) the actual dvd video window "hides" when I bring the controls up. I'll have the movie playing full screen, then tap Controls to bring up the control buttons and they come up but when they do the video window goes away (either goes black or is hidden), If I wait the 3 seconds or so the control buttons go away and the video window comes back, is this normal? Can the control buttons just come on over the playing video?

    Thanks!
    Nick

officially this skin dosent support powerdvd or windvd etc.
I started to intergrate it many moons ago but it never worked out the way i wanted. There are many issues with powerdvd 5 embeding, and just plain acting weird, no hardware accel etc, etc so i ditched the effort. The file thats there is just that, what was left over but never really complete.
I dont recommend using powerdvd or windvd, with this skin at least.
The problems you describe are just a few of the ones i ran into while trying to add support for it.
FYI there is built in DVD support in RR and has none of the problems you listed above. I would recommend using that instead of any external dvd, you'll likely have some of the same issues no matter what external dvd app you use.

Cool, thanks for the info. Has the resume problem been fixed in the built-in DVD support then?

I originally used the "builtin" media player classic for DVD but it never would resume so I started playing with other external programs, but like you said always ran into strange issues and they have never quite worked 100%.

This runs amazing on p4 carPC but the via m10000 gets really bogged down by this newest release. This skin is awesome but is getting quite large in size. Still one of the best most flexable skins RR has ever seen. Keep up the great work

I'm having problems with IG3... it embeds, but the top buttons are cutoff. Is there some setup stuff I missed, or do I just follow the instructions the GPS setup that you outlined before?

    Day Skin Sneak

just a sneak of the day version im working on, first pass!
alot may change, a lot may not all depends how it looks in the daylight.
Not sure if i like the black text though, and some other elements. May have to just get used to the look. We'll see.

make the center lighter also. Ive notciced that anything on a bright white background is easier to see in the day. oh well. I like it so far. I cant wait for a day skin and then have RR just switch them auto depending on day and bam!

now. if only RRmobile and GPS gas were done and in the skin!

Any word on the fix for the art rage top toolbar? and maybe you figured out how you killed the splash screen for it? lol

Looks good so far. just one question, when are you going to update the volume and progess bars? right not they clash with both version of the skin.
