thats what i do also, just push the power button, hand is allready there.
But some people dont have the power button, if they flush mounted there screen and cant access the lcd buttons. So thats basicly why its even there.

My monitor is flush mounted, with no access to the buttons, and its the same with the laptop driving it. So I can't really turn it off.

The SCF file is a Windows file, have you ever used the "Show Desktop" button - that is an SCF file. I just wanted to link to that to minimize any running apps. I will backup all my files and keep messing about till I get a solution - or at least till you get back. If I figure it out, I will post the code on here for others (if they want).

Also, the speedo at the top of the screen (in Km p\h) - I assume this is integrated to be used with iGuidance? Is there any chance the code could be lifted from Destinator, or if not, how can I remove it altogether. Is it just a matter of editing the image files and skin files?

Also, I remember a skin I used a while back where you could search for songs by entering a few keywords. I have about 12,000 mp3s on the computer, and sometimes it takes a while if theres a song I actually want to listen to - any chance of a search function in the future?

Thanks for the prompt reply, enjoy your holiday.

check your setting in the ini file. you can change it to mph in there. The speed info is not taken from iGuidance, RR pulls it from your gps receiver, you also have to set this in the ini file.

    Hey all-

The skin is really coming along. i have just installed the new skin, and it works great. Just need to know how to use a loadlist as one of the free buttons. Could someone provide a code example to the exectbl or whatever files need to be modified?

**LS, i just saw your posting on this subject, and saw that you can only open exe files. I should still be able to open a m3u, correct?

Also, i stream all the time with my verizon card. I have made several M3U lists, and would like to load them from the buttons. However, even if i do this, is there a way to get the (id3) stream to show properly? I have heard that the loadlist command should do it, but i havent been able to see anything but a url.

    Thanks in advance,

    sideone

Ok, I figured out why it was displaying the wrong text - doh! It was a simple line in ExecTBL.ini that still made reference to FREE35 - I changed it now, and it all works perfect.

I think I'm going to make a few more subtle changes to this skin to suit me a little better. But its probably the nicest looking one out there, great work! Especially since you integrated Freedrive - w00t.

Anyone know of any software for skin editing for RoadRunner?

EDIT: No matter, one quick blast on google! and I found this,

    just got back,
had no internet access at the hotel so that sucked monkey balls.

Gonna post an update in a few days, since its Saturday maybe the middle of the week. Got a little skin time in on vacation, but not a lot.

Ill post up some examples on how to add commands to be used on the custom buttons, but things are gonna change so i may just wait till i finish changeing it.
But basicly, the way its gonna work, when you are in the audio player, all the buttons will be custom but only allow you to choose from buttons that are related to actual audio except for the top row of buttons which will still be anything you want. That way you can add any missing audio commands you want to use thats not available.

@ side one, you dont have to use loadlist to load the playlist file.

Create a folder inside your Music Library, mine is named -{saved list}-
so its allways at the top of the list.
Run RRConfig.exe or (from inside the skin) RightArrow>Config>Settings
Under General Settings>Playlist Path>point to the folder you just created above.
Put all your playlist files in this folder and they are accessed the same way other audio files are.
You can also save the currently loaded playlist by click and hold the PLAYLIST button in the audio player. A OSK will pop up and just give it a name and hit enter.

    @blessani
RRSKineditor is what i use to make the skin. It should be included with your RR install, if not you may have to download it from the RR site. There is also a thread here somewhere with updates to the skin editor.
also note anyone already editing the skin in RRSkineditor, you may have noticed once you saved the skin, the popup menu is nolonger on the left side, its in the middle. This is because RRSKineditor deletes the values for the menu possition. If you look at the end of the ExecTBL.ini file you should see to pos lines, copy those back into POPUP.skin (before the END)
Next update the menu will default to the middle and not the left.

With the redesign of the top info bar, minimize will default back to the TIME button, and the quick menu will be in the middle top of info bar. This ofcourse will all be custom option.
