for me web intergration leaves a lot to be desired.
In the next release the built in web browser will no longer be supported.
I have it currently setup to use carweb. Its better, but not without its own issues. If the developer of carweb would answer any of the posts and emails ive sent him maybe the issues could be fixed, but im not holding my breath.
The way carweb works is kind of cool, the Favorites list is nice and is actually the main reason its so much easier to use. The osk built in is pretty cool too.
My only big gripe is it seems to embed a old version of mozilla not sure which version but seems to have issues with some of the sites i go to. Also has some issues with not closeing the process when RR exits. Its 90% perfect, but the last 10% has some serious issues. Kind of sucks cuz if the guy who made it dosent reply back to me, ill have to remove it likely or write some scripts to fix it.
In any case, adding some type of music navigation while in the web browser is a good idea and ill look into where and how to put it in. So ill add that to the list on the first post.
LS, let me begin with a few well deserved accolades for your skin. I like the graphics and button layout, it really looks great. I have had one small problem, and I am not sure if it is a problem specific for the skin or RR itself, and I am happy to move my question to a more appropriate thread.
Occasionally I have found that upon dragging my finger over the screen, or upon an individual button click, a trail of red circles is produced and road runner freezes and is unable to recover. Once I 'end task' on RR and restart it, it seems to work fine again. Let me know what you think, thanks.
Feynmansum, that trail of red circles you are refering to are gestures that you are seeing. It was a new feature in RR so yes it is a RR issue not LSXvoid issue. To turn Gestures off, edit the rr.ini or just go to rrconfig and turn gestures off. I personally dont use them either.
also before you turn the gesture support off, i would suggest you to play with it a bit and see how it works. It really is a great feature that i think most that have issues with it usually dont know the feature is actually present and think something weird is going on. The freaze your getting im not sure about, its prob trying to execute a command that isnt present or something.
In the skin though, i have several NOGESTURE areas that attempt to make it easier to use the gestures. Most of the buttons have nogesture areas defined for them so the only area in most cases to perform gestures is in the middle area of the skin. I havent checked all screens to make sure they are set right or not, but most should be. On certain screens gestures are disabled completely, like in the GPS screen.
I wonder if the gesture feature was modified to only execute gestures if you start the drag in a specific area of the screen only. Like top left quarter of the screen would be where you have to start all gestures, other areas act as normal. Just an idea.
But it seem all the posts and problems with gestures are from those that dont know its actually a feature.
I think if it was turned off by default it would also reduce the number of post on this issue.
But give it a try first.
Well, i believe i found the problem. I had noticed a few things weren't right, including an inability to change weather location data, aformentioned gestures, etc. I had compiled the latest RR vb source code and the newest LSX but failed to replace other programs including RRconfig, and was running an old version without all the new options. So I just downloaded the latest binary and reinstalled everything, problems solved, thanks guys.
Have you ever thought of adding preset buttons for XM (or Sirius)?
ahh one more thing i just thought of LS.
If you do a drop down on the web scree. how bout a clock on the drop down. just remembered theres no way to tell time from that screen.
Thanks man. You rock.
just noticed a new rr release. im guessing the update is on hold until it works with the new RR update?
there likely wont be a dropdown in the web screen, really isnt any place to add one without it being inconsistant and out of place. I did add music navigation buttons and the time though. carweb is OUT and the webplugin from the yesterdays release is IN. Much better.

I dont have xm or sirius hardware so...
Whats the difference in using the presets and using the favorite list? With the fav list you can have as many presets as you want, the other way would be limited to only 5 entries.
