personally i have a current generation mobile Intel CPU (core 2 duo) in mine and i love it. There's a huge variety of mini-itx boards for use now that are all very nicely catalogued in this thread.

These are all of course if you want to start from basics rather then just get premade.

I have a Worklog, but I have to take pictures as it's completely out of date now.

It works perfect for me, on multiple systems, but some have had issues with them in the past. Id like to get to the bottom of it, if possible, but a tad hard since i cant repro any issues with them.
well it appeared to work fine when i first installed the skin on my desktop - that was with the january release of roadrunner. Although I didn't test it exhaustively (because i didnt pick up on a problem). Anyone know where I can get old versions of roadrunner?

In the course of fiddling with other things (i have most of the rest of the features all working now) i updated to the current 11 4 07 release of roadrunner, winamp 5.13, and flash 9.

Then I noticed the dirplayer and dirplayer_neg scripts playing up.
I see them briefly appear in the systray, but more often than not they do not advance the directory, merely start the same one again. When they do behave correctly, they appear briefly in the systray twice.

I counted the number of times it worked incorrectly before working correctly again - and it is advancing whatever variable it uses to track the current directory -

For example i have comedy, concorddawn, cream, cradleoffilth. I clicked down once (restarted comedy), twice (restarted comedy), and on the third time it played cradleoffilth.

    eurgh - cradle of filth.

Um.. looking at the folders it did and didnt skip - the ones it skipped had no mp3s in them - only in subfolders.

    Hope this helps.
I haven't run the remove attributes batch on this computer - could that affect it?

    Kudos on the skin.

Im not sure what the remove batch attributes is or does.

For a brief moment a while ago one of the scripts had broke on me also, i think there was a change to RR somewhere or winamp. Ill post the version i have now and let me know if it works better for you.

just stick these files in the skin folder and overwrite the old ones.

thank you, that thread should keep me busy for tonite.

I really want to go the core2duo route also, and if i can get intel power in a via small form package it would be the best of both worlds.

no luck, they are behaving the same. They will not correctly make playlists from folders that have no mp3s in them, regardless of whether sub directories have mp3s in them.

If the directory has an mp3 in it, then it succeeds, and recurses subdirectories also.

    odd,
it should grab the top level folder of your music lib and anything in the sub dir
it doesn't actually scan for any music files so it doesnt matter if mp3's are in the folders or not.
Basicly what it does is gets the path to your music library from RR, then it generates a list of all the top level folders in that dir.
Then it will send each top level folder to winamp to play.

how is your music library structured

here is somewhat of a debug version

stick this in the same folder as the skin, make sure that RR is running and on the audio player screen.

run the file and report back what happens.

same behaviour as before. will not deal with directories not directlycontaining an mp3. what version of RR do you use?

it pops up a dialog box showing the command that will be executed,
and when you click ok the command is executed.

    the popup has

    SELDL||SETPATH;<path to new directory here>||SELDL||BACK||!SELECT||BACK||SELPL

but i'm guessing you already knew that.

my music is structured as C:\Docs and settings\mydocs\my music\ .. and then artist\album folders.

Its definitely only folders with no mp3 in the top level that cause a problem.

AS for the remove attributes - that removes the sytem and hidden attributes from everything. its for getting folder/album art working in rr properly.

Ah - I tested by placing a text file (which doesn't have the system and hidden attributes set) in one of the problematic folders.
dirplayer now correctly recurses the sub directories.

Does that help? It thinks the folders are empty? So doesn't recurse the subfolders.. this should help you reproduce the problem.
