any tips for coaxing a little more out of my sp13000 - its ever so close to running the skin smoothly with the vis on.

i only have 256mb of ram - but i no longer use hibernate, i use sleep mode so could upping this help?

running rr as shell?

any other ideas? processes I shud kill?
I am using a standard XP pro install.

Its just a little sluggish with the vis going.
in small vis mode it doesnt use 100% cpu tho.

Sorry if this seems off topic, but this skin is great and im sure plenty of people with the quicker EPIAs want to use it with bells an whistles.

I will however make another version of the spectrum vis - with fewer bars to see if that will reduce cpu load a bit.

Yeah the more you require of the CPU...

Wouldn't visualizations fall under the 'no moving images' on the dash laws anyway.

well i hate vis actually, i just want the spectrum analyzer. other vis are brain rotting.

On that point - how many car stereos have spec analyzers?
visualisations even?

Still that doesn't dictate the law. I'm in NZ by the way. they cant find us here.

If anyone is in the process of buying a kontron 986 i'll have one too.

I believe the SA puts just as much load on the CPU as any visualization, especially with transparency.

But if it's worth the heat...

hey ls,
I'm not sure if this is a problem with the skin or the weather app itself, but it can't display 3 digit temps on the current forecast page. Not really important, but I happened to notice it today. It is way too hot down here.

edit: I'm using 800x600 maybe that is causing the problem.

nice find. I never really thought about that. I think all of the temps are set to only show 2 digits.

I have a question about a problem I encountered this evening. LSX loaded but none of the buttons came up except for the forward back and play buttons. I quit out of RR and found that one of the scripts failed to exit. I guess that was the problem but it has never happened before. Anyway, reloaded RR and it said it was an invalid skin. Checked the rr.ini file and found that the path to the skin had been deleted somehow. Pointed it back to LSX and loaded the skin. Now I get the AUDIO button everywhere. I know how to fix this problem as it has been covered before. My question is what caused this in the first place? I don't think this is the first time this has happened. Is this a bug that just shows up every once in awhile?

Overall it isn't a big deal and should be easy to fix I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue.
