Thread: Lsx Void 3.0

well LS, seems that i have a problem, i install the skin, fired up Road Runner, change the skin from my crappy skin to the Void, and non of the buttons work, not even the button labels show up, might be something simple, is late now so tomorrow i'll see what the problem cut be. !thanks again!.

some short notes about some of the new features.

sending emails.

you can send emails from inside of the notes screen, any note or voice note you create can be sent as an email.
To setup email, go to the config screen OPT>Email and make sure you fill out all of the sections. It has been pre filled out with settings for gmail, so all u have to do is fill in the missing info like user name, password etc. This works with GMAIL for now, other mail services may work but i havnt tested them. This is only for sending mail, you can not download any mail. In the future i will enable you to send media like mp3 files etc. And possibly some kind of syncing.



history playlist or preset playlist option in the audio player.

To choose which one u want to use, go to options, OPT>General Options>audio player CFG and choose one. The setting is active immediately. The difference between the two.
Preset is the 2.x feature and works just like it did in 2.x
History works like the back and forward buttons in your internet browser. So when ever you load a new playlist, it will remember the old one and automatically save it as a preset, up to 5. So the last 5 things u loaded will always be in the history, and u can cycle between them just as with the preset function.

all other function in the audio player are the same as 2.x or self explanatory.

note: the delete track button will PHYSICALY delete the song from disk. Be careful. It does not go to the recycle bin, but is gone forever.



XPLORRER file browser
is a full file browser inside RR. You can browse any directory and see all files. Copy and past files to different directories. There are also button for sending anything currently selected to your music library,video library or picture library. Usefull for copying media from usb drives etc. Note all the functions work, on the item that is selected, read that twice.

There is support for RRCAM, so now there are 2 solutions for dealing with cameras in the skin, with unique features in both. CAMERA is native RR and CAM is RRCAM


wallpapers, color themes, oh my.

Skin fully supprts transparency now.
to change your background, go to OPT>wallpaper

choose IMAGES and it will take you to the photoviewer where u can choose any image that is located in your picture library.

The COLOR PICKER will let you pick a solid color to use as ur wallpaper

HIGHLIGHTS will let you customize the color theme of the skin, so the text and on state colors of buttons will change. The skin shipes with 4 color themes. More on the way.

A lot of options from rr.ini can now be set directly from inside the skin, and more options will be enabled in future updates until absolutely every setting in rr.ini can be set or changed from inside the skin.


TIP OF THE DAY (disabled by default by mistake)
should auto show on new installs, but i forgot to turn it back on before i built the install. Its not a big deal, if you want to see whats in it, just go to options>general options and turn it on. Has some tips similar to what im writing here.


Thats it for now, will write up more proper info later.

There are a lot of new features and a lot of changes under the hood u wont even notice, so just play around test it out and see whats new.

Known Issues:

the last 2 vis & logo options (13&14 on the second page) are not complete.

im not sure if i included the new IG mod with the skin or not, but i think there should be a an updated IG3 mod in lstools and the IG4 mod is on the way.


The no sex color theme has pink stars for the ratings! wtf. This is just an oversight. It dont look to bad though, but it will be changed back to the proper yellow.


As always, there is more to come. I already have hooks in place for a 3.x release sometime at the end of the year, but there will be small fixes etc all this week for any outstanding issues you guys find.

there is no day version yet.

i found if you change the wallpaper to pure white it helps a lot, but not a replacement for a proper day version. One is in the works.

ummm, not to complain but..................

"Images" locks it up
"color picker" locks it up
"Day night skin" selection locks it up (not surprising as there is no day skin yet)
"calculator" locks it up


Seems to lock up randomly and crash................


I must have a setting wrong somewhere. seems anything without a clearly defined path locks it up.

Diggin into the prog now............

(probably just best to wait for the readme file actually)
