Thread: Lsx Void 3.0

Hi LS,
Skin just keeps getting more impressive as I use it!
Not sure how I managed before void.

Couple questions:

The good morning, good night etc message on start up, what file would I need to modify to change the text in those messages?

Are you going to make a daytime background for the "clean" option or is this something I'll have to work on PS-ing myself?

Only one real problem-

I like the skin so much that my little P3 500 lappy doesn't perform well enough to do the OS justice (ram issue mostly and it's maxed out at 196mg - delays, stability, etc). Time to haul the extra p4 2 ghz desktop system out of the closet that I've been holding onto and make a powerhouse carputer! (guess I'll have to get on the form and play the newb for startup and shutdown options, probably have to go an inverter to feed the beast)

Again, great skin! Incredibly professional looking and more versatile than any aftermarket packaged solution could be! And Free! You are indeed a gentleman, sir!

You could try tinyxp to get around the RAM slowdown. I'm using tinyxp rev05 and it only uses like 55mb of ram

You will need to use a newer version of winamp, the vis i use wont work with 2.95, i strongly recommend 5.13, the newest versions of winamp have several issues with Road Runner that most may not notice with normal basic skins.

Extract it to your Winamp\Plugins\avs\ directory. Start winamp manually, select AVS as the plugin. Start the visualization, and then right click on the window and select Spectrum and choose which one you want.

Verify that you have "AVS window" as your vis in roadrunner (visuname=!Winamp Gen!AVS). Then just startup RR, and click on the vis indicator/date in the top right.

I've tried tiny xp a couple times and have even shrunk xp down with nlite a couple times myself. It always seemed like I had to give up something I wanted no matter how I cut it.
It did speed up the system though, just has too many compromises that I don't want to make.

LS .. again great skin, the more i get use to this newer version, the better i understand it.. and like it...

I am running this on a laptop and also on my carputer.. I havent seen this problem on the forums, so i am not sure if its something Im doing or something unseen.

All is fine if I access the internet, or weather/radar... but if i try and access gas by itself (before any other), my cell wont connect. Once a connection is made on any other, gas will work... it seems like the gas selection doesnt promote a internet connection..

While Im on this topic.. I dont believe this a skin problem, cause it happens with every skin that has a weather option... but on my laptop while trying to select weather (alone) something is preventing the update.. I removed norton, set the win firewall to not, and (with either cell or my house Lan) it still wont work . The only way i can update weather.html is by using a script i found here on the forums, but from what i have read, apparently rr wont show the screen until a connection with weather server is made, any ideas???

Anyone have the latest RR? The beta version is down and I'm having some issues with this skin at the moment. I have one of the Beta versions after the 11/12 release. The latest one released in the forum.

did i miss something, did the files for D/L go up today and back down?

You should run version 5.13 of winamp so all you visuals in this skin work correctly etc. But thats not the issue. To fix this. Go into RR setup. go down until you see a box called highlight current playlist song on change. Make sure this box is checked That should fix your issue.

Thanks for pointing that out yrean, someone was having this same problem in the older release thread and i keep forgetting this can be turned on and off in RRConfig.

C:\Program Files\Road Runner\LSTOOLS\welcomeMSG
if you change the size of the image you also have to update the scripts, everything related to it is in that folder.

Yes i will make (actually already have) a "clean" option for the daytime skin.

yeah, i agree 196MB of ram seems to be the biggest problem. Most if not all of that is being sucked up by windows on boot.
