That may reveal where your issue lies.........

Just make sure your clean out your debug file first (it will be too large if your don't), then start one instance of rr to get a file you can post.

Also, if you have "hide winamp" checked in the config utility, uncheck it to make sure it is running. I've had all kind of strange issues crop up in "Audio" when winamp either doesn't start properly with RR or it "glitches". You can also check in taskmanager to see if it is running or has multiple instances open (which I've found will also muck up the works).

However, rr hanging when you click audio is one of the problems I've seen when the media path is not set correctly (don't ask me how I know. 'Doh!) Do you have your path set to a file where your music is or have you just tried to define the drive? I've treid to set the path a simply "C" and it doesn't like that......
One last Q, can you see your song list in the ilists? If you can't, this could also indicate an incorrect media path.

    Cheers
    Here is debug and rr.ini

I used the RR Config.exe to set everything up. Winamp 5.13 starts up fine and if I have VISU for start commands it starts that fine. RR just hangs with showing only the 3 buttons i described above. I have no clue what is going on. Other base skin works fine.

Got CDrip plugin itself to work, but it keeps saying "...\VOID 3.0 does not contain a valid skin. Please check your settings and try again"

So I copied the cdrip.skin from BMV2 into the void skin dir - worked fine, except the layout was all messed up (ofcourse) and there are no buttons either (and clicking around activates nothing).
I then took the top 2 code lines from the bmv2 cdrip.skin and pasted it over the VOID cdrip.skin file (Basically replacing the 2 RR/Roadrunner lines with the 2 MediaCAR lines).

That got it to load and seemed to get the layout/buttons to appear correctly!
Trouble is.. none of the buttons actually do anything. Only the Back << arrow works.

    Thanks.

    On a quick glance:

Did you edit this line manually :
    winamppath=C:\Program Files\Winamp 5.13\
or is that how it is setup on your drive?

Here's what my path looks like:
    winamppath=C:\Program Files\Winamp\

That's the programs "default" install location.

try that first, meanwhile, I'll keep looking..............

You can try my INI if you want and substitute your media paths. Everything in my rr install is in the deafult locations, so if you changed anything when you installed, it probably won't work. Just rename your INI rr1.ini or something and place mine in your rr root directory. If it doesn't work, just delete it and change yours back.

*edit- hmmm, the forum won't let me post a txt file for some reason. odd...............
I can post the text here if you want to copy it and make your own ini file out of it. Let me know.

    Cheers

I got the same problem today with RR freezing when hitting the audio... downloaded and updated RR to the newest version from Guinos site since I couldnt get the iList to work as it should...

Everything else works, radio, gps, etc etc but as soon as I hit Audio RR "plays dead", it's not the PC since I can still hear the music running and that annoying "ding-dong" sound if I unplugg something...

Last few lines from the debug file:
    Code:
    12/14/2007 12:06:13 PM: Leave Exec: False, menu.skin, , False
    12/14/2007 12:06:13 PM: Enter Exec: False, menu.skin, "MAINBT1", False
    12/14/2007 12:06:13 PM: Que Exec: True, menu.skin, "MAINBT1", False

I hardly think it's my paths as suggested since it worked great before the upgrade, 30 secs later after I updated to the latest version it's dead...

    What were ilists doing?

Ls rm's the ilist lines out in the alt folders, your's may still be excluded. If you can see the list but it doesn't scroll, that's your problem there. Just remove the "\" i the menu.skin file and the alt skin files that use ilists. make sure you have the 12-06-07 rr releae though........

I just went into my ini file to copy it for the previous poster. Once I had, rr began locking up on the audio button. WTF?? A quick paste of the old ini set everything back to right again.

Check your ini files very closely. Make sure your media paths and progam paths (winamp, mpc, etc) are set correctly. It seems this iterration of rr and void are extremely sensitive to ini changes.

    Cheers

I just pasted your rr.ini into my rr root.

Does the same thing you describe.

You must have a path set incorrectly somewhere...............

I'm bettng on that winamp path being incorrect.

    Good luck

Yup, the problem was that I could see the lists but couldnt browse through them, pretty annoying in the Library since the only way to navigate was by using the letters at the bottom and then hope for the best!

I'll check all my paths now, heading home from work and will also check the main skin file for any commented lines... what other files is it... checked the skin files and I noticed that there's 3 different Audio_Browser skins... *confused*

will repost later when I get home if it worked or not... also going to try and remove some dll file I read about in another post... see if that might help!

Any help is greatly appreciated. Anyone willing to mess with it first hand msg me and I'll give you my Radmin3 login information so you may mess with it at will. Radmin3 View is free to use: Link

    This is so frustrating
Are you using Radmin to connect to your CarPC? Is that when you see the problem? If so, that's the reason that your RR is hanging when clicking on the Audio screen. I had this problem using Logmein to the CarPC. It does not support DirectX which is used by the skin. When I tried pressing the Audio button from inside the car, I had no problem. Only when accessing the CarPC remotely. Hope that helps.

In your void folder, find the menu.skin file and edit this line:

    \IL,PL,transparent.bmp,sel.bmp,end.bmp,0,70,50

    to this:

    IL,PL,transparent.bmp,sel.bmp,end.bmp,0,70,50

Then go into the "ALT" folder and look for the same lines in the skins listed there. They don't all have the line, just the vis screens that use ilists.

If you're not comfortable with manually editing the lines, just copy the file before you edit it and then you can just restore it (overwrite your edited file) if you mess something up. I did that with my rr.ini now that I've gotten everything working fine and it's saved me alot of trouble a couple times.

I thought LS was going to update the download to change this though.........

    LS? Comments?

    Cheers

This is where my winamp is installed. The path is correct. I'll try and rename that folder to something without any '.' and see if that does anything. What I don't understand is that it worked fine before. Now LSX won't even start up without RR freezing even after fresh install...
