ilist are list that scroll based on your finger just like how the iphone and ipod touch do, give or take a few things. It uses DirectX to do this and those with embeded graphics cards seems to be the most people with problems getting it to run due to direct x errors.
Some known issues that will cause ilist to fail in RR is having any non Microsoft remote desktop application installed that uses a mirror driver, such as logmein, VNC and a few others. Simply having these applications installed will produce errors. Also, you cant remote desktop into RR even using the built in RD in windows with ilist as RD disables Direct X.
Old video drivers or crappy video drivers also likely to have issues.
There will be a patch that people can apply to the skin soon that will globaly disable ilist in the skin for those unable to run it.
If RR freezes when you click AUDIO its most certainly related to the ilist that is on that screen.
The latest version of RR last i checked was 12/13/2007 ill check again after dinner and see if there is a newer version that may have brought back a previous bug.
cover art in the video browser works exactly like cover art in the audio browser, it looks for the same file name, folder.jpg is what i use.
They can be any resolution you want, the higher the res the slower RR will take to load the specific file. I find anything under 1k is good. Most of mine are between 800x and 1000x. The aspect ratio is the same as a dvd cover box art. I think there is a way to force it to maintain aspect ratio of the image so ill look into that for those who have art for stuff like tv shows etc that isnt in the movie cover aspect ratio.
Thats really odd, dont think ive ever heard of this problem before. Can you check and post your version of RR you are running?
divix files should play fine if you have the codec installed. Most of my video is also divx. In RRConfig under video, i have "use built in player" UNCHECKED. There really arent any other settings related to video to screw with in the config tool. You should have mplayerc.exe in the root of your RR install (i believe it comes with RR but not sure). Run this and make sure you can play divx files outside of RR in MPC.
double check your RR.ini file and make sure its pointed to the correct skin. also check resume.ini it also stores the last used skin path and make sure its pointed to the correct skin. For some reason on a fresh install of RR its pointed to a skin that doesn't exist.
As for your iphone, it will not work with RR nor will the ipod touch. They will not (at least for now) work with any 3rd party software other than iTunes. Apple saw it fit to disable disk mode on the new ipods to block any 3rd parth media players from connecting to the ipod because of greed. I feel your pain, and may apple burn in hell.
If you have an older ipod they work fine in RR and other apps.
ill look into it and see if there is something i can suggest. In stead of putting the command in rr.ini i can give you a line to add/edit in ExecTBL.ini for the skin that will serve the same purpose and hopefully fix that issue.
