its not recommended to do that since the two skins share the same lstools folder and the 3.x version has significant changes to the content in that folder, so no telling what kind of issues you'll run into doing that.

Are there suppose to be arrows to scroll through the music?

nothing i can do about how it scrolls the playlist to get to the next song on shuffle, its a RR issue.

Your audio player should look like the attached pic.

when i think about it though, i looks like you are using the OLD audio player. Ill have to add some arrows to that screen, eventually though that screen will be retired.

this is not a issue with the skin or the play list feature, but a problem with RR not resuming the proper music when it restarts. This only seems to happen to some people, not sure what causes it, but there are a few thread about the issue.
The reason the text is correct is because i save that info to a variable in skin.ini as soon as you set the preset. RR tries to save the song info on exit, but sometimes does not have enough time to save it before windows kills the process. This happens when windows shutsdown and kills RR before it can write the resume info. if you exit rr before you shutdown the pc it should fix the problem, but not really a good option in the car.

Thanks for the help smoke. I don't have the arrows in the new or old audio screen but I like how you can slide the playlist so it doesn't matter to me. I am now running the old day skin on the new LS tools and it seems to be working perfect, if not better.

When extracting the update do I point it to the the skin folder, the lstools folder, or just the RR folder?

im glad you have it working ok, but i can almost assure down the road there will be an issue somewhere as there are files not present in the latest lstools that the old skin looks for. But its possible those are features your either not using or dont pertain to your setup.

you point all the 3.x updates to the root of the skin, inside the actual lsxvoid3.0 folder, so you should get a prompt from windows to overwrite files, if you dont you are in the wrong folder.

Ok so i was able to get the audio button to work, but it will only work when I have the 9/30/07 release of RR installed. When I update RR to 12/6 or 12/14 the audio button doesnt work. I get "Error on InitDX: -2005532452 Automation error"

Please help me!

Guess this was a directx issue.
downloaded dx7vb.dll to c:\windows\system32

then ran regsvr32 dx7vb.dll

Problem resolved!

Hello

First off, the skin is awesome. Ive recently pulled by setup out of my car to update from 2.0.

Ive run into a problem through. after installing it everything works but the audio button. After clicking it RR freezes. I have tried it on vista and xp pro. Im running the recommended winamp 2.95. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I Added all the updates. Ive read through this post and there were a couple of posts, but I cant see a fix. If i missed it Im sorry.

This is the error from debug.

that error is related to Direct X, nothing i can do will fix that for you.
What you can try and look into is.

Do you have the latest drivers for your video card?

Do you have the dx7vb.dll file and is it registered?

Do you have fastmode=-1 in RR.ini?

Are you using or have installed and 3rd Party (non MS) remote desktop software?


Some system simply have too poor video cards, usually non intel embedded chips and there really isnt anything u can do except upgrade your video card. If you have a itx system this may be a task due to the small size, but i do believe it is possible to install a pci video card on these systems. You can get a older nividia card for 50bucks that will be more than enough for any carputer needs.

Thanks for the info on this. Does this also affect the Presets? I can switch to preset 2, make a new playlist, then go back to preset one and it is empty, then go back to preset 2 and it is also empty? If I remember correctly the presets are automatic, or am I missing a "set as preset" somewhere?

no they are not automatic anymore, that feature is temporarily disabled. You have to specifically set each playlist you want to store.

To store a preset.

Load some music up.
Switch to the preset number you want to save to.
Click and hold the right preset arrow button.

If you want to set the preset with additional options, click and hold the left preset arrow button.
Here you can pick witch slot to save the preset in and also the option to give the preset a custom name.

After update latest rr n lsx 3.25 update arrow compass no longer work any idea how to fix it
