You can comment the ilist line out of the skin in the "alt" folder and void won't use ilists.
They work fine with mine though.............
Printable View
use "/" at the beginning of the line in the skin file. For example:
, IL, LIST, SelImg, UnselImg, EndImg, LimitMode, Drag, MaxSpeed
Becomes:
/, IL, LIST, SelImg, UnselImg, EndImg, LimitMode, Drag, MaxSpeed
At least, it worked for me when I was chasing down a few issues I had with ilists............
Rockin,
I'll give it a try.
Thanks
well, thought I knew what I was doing, but it seems skinning is still just a bit out of my grasp yet.........
Thought I'd have a try at making a day skin for void.
Opened up the skin folder, opened all the png's in photoshop CS. Came up with a quick and dirty idea to see how a day skin might look by setting up an action to invert and save all the images. Wouldn't be perfect, all the colors besides the blacks would be messed up, but a couple casual hours of PS could fix that up. About 5 mins of work and I had all the images inverted. That should get me a mostly light skin and I could massage the rest from there right?
Wrong!
Copied the original "Void" folder, renamed it "void day" and replaced (overwrote) all the dark png's with my inverted images. Defined that as my day skin in rrconfig, restarted, and..............
It used all the dark images from the original dark skin anyways. Missed something somewhere.
banghead
Back to the drawing board..............I desperately need a light skin with summer approaching and i can't give up my "Void"....................
:(
I think you hit the snag when you changed the folder name to "Void day". All the files and code in the skin point at the original "void" folder. You need to go change all the target paths throughout the skin code ..... If it were easy I think LS would have done it already. I'm with you though, I can't see crap during the day time (colorado sun is out all the time and strong! ... and i love it).
Hi smoke. I tried to pm you, but your box is full.
So, here goes:
Do you still have the Lsxcolors.txt file you posted a while ago that changed the font colors from white to black?
Or was is a redone menu.skin file? I can't recall, although a modified menu.skin makes more sense.......
I've searched the thread and can't find it. I'd like to fool around with it to see if it can be used in a day version of the skin.
I'm working on a little something for myself until you can find time to try a day version and that would save me alot of time. I could go in a edit all the files to black instead of white, but that would take quite a while. And if you've already done the work, well.......
Basically, I've done a little photoshop work and (for the most part) inverted the PNG files (good ol' Ctrl+I). It does indeed look "washed out", But, at least it's a starting point. I'm still massaging the images for a bit better contrast and eye appeal. (The unflattened PS files would make it so much easier though, HINT HINT!;))
Of course, I will NOT release anything that even resembles a modified void file. Nothing will happen (publicly) without your say so with regards to modifying your work.
Feel free to PM me if you don't mind sending me the file and/or PSD's but would rather not release them to the general public.
Cheers
BJ
*edit*
Here's a couple quick screen caps of the work in progress. Keep in mind, I've only got about 10mins of work into this so far. It's pretty weak right now, but it's only the beginning of editing.................long way to go before it is nice enough for use.
By the way, Loving the color picker and themes. Great feature, esspecially since my dash lighting is green.

(ignore the music, just downloaded some quick stuff for testing purposes ;))
One Last note for LS:
If you want me to stop mucking around withthe skin and posting stuff like this, just say so and it's done. I'll remove the screen caps above as well if you wish.
