NO, i didnt write it so im sure it only reads what it shows you. There is no configuration for it, its done in flash.

i assume you have music you want to access on that device? Or some other type of data.

Dont think much can be done actually, i know RR reads ipods, but they show up as normal drives.


edit: Have you tried the SYSTEM button? It loads the app, system manager that has a file browser and other related utilities like sync etc, you can see if it shows up in there.

IF you dont have system manager installed, go here, install to the default path. Load the skin, click the right big grey arrow on the main menu, click SYSTEM button

there are multiple links to the differnt versions of system manager (copytool) in that thread, the last 2 versions

800x600 is kind of the lowest common denominator. What is the native res of your screen?

anyway, as for the flyout menu in the GPS screen for IG3. There is a ini file you can modify the position of the flyout, its called coords.ini and is found in
LSTOOLS\SB2.9_IG3\iGuidance
this is ONLY for the position though. To change the actual size of the flyout you have to edit the source for the scripts found in the same folder.

and also all the associated .bmp files. The sizes of the buttons stated in the script must match the size of the bitmaps. Its not super hard to change it, but if you dont know how it'll all look like 250lines of jibberish.

to be honest i dont know how your living with 640x480, whats actually forcing you into this res, I know that monitor you have can do much higher resolution.
So i has to be your video card, not sure how old your ati rage pro is, but unless its super ancient it should be able to do 800x600 too. Kind of a sucky situation your in, esp cause its a laptop you can just grab a cheap card for 50 bucks. What model laptop do you have?

I bought my xenarc in about 2003 or so. 700 tsv. Been sitting in the closet for awhile. I've got another one off ebay (yeah I know, ebay) but haven't tried it yet. Manual is long gone, lost in a couple moves somewhere. The touchscreen is serial instead of usb if that helps to date it. If I recall, the screen is 800X480 native, but only recognizes 640x480 and shows this in the OSD menu. 800x600 results in some pretty funky split screen action. I believe the pop up box says unknow format on 800x600. 800x600 is also the lowest default the rage pro chip wants to do, but you can force 640x480 and higher than 800x600. the laptop is from about 2000, been running that in the car for a couple years now.
Kind of a moot point anyhow as I am amassing the p4 system (well, it's mostly done as it is a thin desktop unit that I'll pop in the trunk on a custom rack) and will be popping in a card capable of 800x480. Probably an older agp gforce mx440, cheap and will do everything I'll ask of it. I'm not looking for a gaming unit here.

Actually, that's how the whole carputer thing started for me. I noticed the rca's in my head unit one day and remembered the old laptop (Compaq Armada 1750) in the closet. I figured, mp3 player and gps! Everything gets kinda fuzzy from there!
Hopefully this will take care of the iguidance issue, if not looks like I'll be getting into a little scripting. Not my forte, but something I've been meaning to learn anyways.

These Apps Are Already Presetup To Work With The Skin, You Just Need To Install Them.

I tried system manager, has the same problem (doesn't show up) using version 5.5.. I've been using windows explorer and using it's built in copy command.

still assuming your trying to get to the music on that device, does it come with some kind of sync software to sync the music? You could reduce it all down to a button click.

LSX VOID SKIN for system manager, sys man can only have ONE skin at a time, so you will have to overwrite the default skin with the lsxvoid version. BACKUP the default first if you plan to use it later.
EDIT C:\Program Files\System-Manager\settings.ini and under the [GENERAL] section make the values look like below.

I appreciate you making this list its making enjoying your skin and hard work that much easier. Quick question what about the phone support. I see we need phoco, do we just need the program or do we use the remote interface? Thanks.

It is an mtp device, so we are "forced" to use windows media player... I want to be able to copy music from it to my HD as well as from my HD to the device. Is there a simple way of macroing this or something??

That list isnt complete yet.

Yes you need PhoCo for the Phone button to work. (for now)
There is no difference in the Phoco program and the remote interface, they are the same program, its just a different mode that PhoCo runs in.

In RRConfig (this is for any skin)
Check "Use -remoteNoDesign"
Set the Paths for PhoneControl and other options to your preference.

Done.

You should now see all the phone features working.

As soon as CDR releases FreePhone1.4 it will be intergrated.

I really DO NOT support Phoco at all, almost to the point of boycott. Take that anyway you see fit.

not sure what a mtp device is, but im guessing its the reason for all the troubles. You could possibly script it, but it likely wont be a simple task.
what is the fully device name again, ill do a little searching to see if there are any hacks out there, im sure there are at least a few peeps that dont like that your forced to use wmp.

Im with ya on that. as soon as zorro screwed the RR community by not selling the license to individuals, but making people go thru distributors for keys and support(RR has no real distributor since its open source), was when i didnt bother even trying to get phoco to work at all. could I have gotten ahold of his software and hacked it to use? easily, but thats not my style, and id rather not use anything from zorro personally, ever.
