finally got the skin working today (actually, finally got rr working today and the skin along wih it)
I forgot how dfferent rr is from cf. I'm sure this skin makes that feeling of being confused more pronounced, kind of like using mac os9 then going to xp, and then osx. familiar, sort of the same thing you remember except way better (even though I have only like 5% of it figured out so far.
contributed a bit to the beer fund (i'm poor right now, but still, it's the first time I ever gave someone money for a skin. It's that good.)
Anway, LS thanks for the awesome skin/front end platform
Oh, is there a way to get rid of the "good night" greeting, it's probably been covered, but I'm only through about 10 or 11 pages in this thread so far
XM Update:
So, the only way that the XM will shut off is by loading the audio skin, then pushing the "Library" button. Any ideas why this is? Is there some way that I can add whatever procedure it's loading onto pressing the "audio" shortcut or perhaps the playlist switching buttons??
Mine shuts off anytime you select another audio device, i.e., audio, FM, TV, DVD, video. It will keep playing on others: main, gps, gas, internet, etc.
HARDWARE: Fujitsu Stylistic ST5111w/WiFi and dock, internal Hitachi 500G HD, external 1TB HD, Sierra Wireless Aircard 550, DVD-RW, BoomzBox HD radio, XM Commander, Delorme GPS, Saitek X-52 Pro joystick, BluSoleil Bluetooth, TPMS, FB, Elm327
This is very odd... what settings to you have checked in the config??
So I've figured out that when I use the new Audio button, it works properly... however, using the "old Audio" does not... I'm wondering what the difference is. Also, I have some auto playlist buttons for loading my CD/other playlists and they don't shut off the XM (so both are playing simultaneously). Is there some code I need to add to the loading playlist button? Is there some way I can get it to jump to the audio screen when the playlist is loaded (and hence shutting off the XM)?
yeah, i think i see the problem with the AUDIOold screen, its not named audio_player.skin i think its named something else. Ill probably have to make it an option similar to the main menu options, so it will require a reload when chooseing it, instead of how it is now you can actually have both of them available. To be honest, i really dont see any reason to use that version of the audio player unless you are absolutely in love with seeing the album art on that screen.
A temp fix for those stuck on using the old audio player, go into the skins folder and rename audio_player_old.skin to be audio_player.skin. Note audio_player.skin already exist (its the new version) so just basically swap names of the two files but dont name either of them some odd name.
For the playlist you have, this issue is likely related to using the old audio player, since its not stopping xm on that screen unless you go to library. Loading a playlist wont stop xm ect. The above temp fix should also fix this issue.
also, how are you loading the playlist? You say is there some way to get it to jump to the audio screen when you load a playlist, but you should already be in the audio section to even load a list. Do you have them tied to a shortcut?

To remove the welcome messages. Open ExecTBL.ini thats located inside the skins folder (day version and night version).
Find and edit the line of code below
before
Code:"LSONSKINSTART","ratecheck2||RUN;LSTOOLS\welcomeMSG\welcome.exe"
after
Code:"LSONSKINSTART","ratecheck2"
i should prob make this an option you can turn on and off from inside the skin.

LS, you could also make a note on one of the fist pages 'bout the "No Internationalization" option in the RRconfig for cyrillic and other non-english users, since this question has already been asked here a couple of times...
The difference is the old one isn't renamed to "Audio.skin." The skin names are important in RR for automatically switching audio sources. For your auto playlist buttons, try preceeding the command with "Audio;" which will switch to the audio skin first and then execute the rest of the command line.
