That I understand, but will there be buttons to choose from in the click and hold menu or is there a limit on how many buttons (pages) you show?

I started using this new version in my car with the day skin just yesterday because I wasn't completely ready to switch over. I have been very comfortable with the previous version and my configuration of it. I have some comments about the day skin while used in my car on my Lilliput.

1- The red highlight on the buttons with the black text is hardly readable.
2- The white highlight on the current song in the playlist doesn't look good. It should be a darker black and the other songs a dark shade of gray.
3- The XM screen has a Play (Tune) button that when held doesn't mute. I think it should allow muting because I am on that screen alot and if I need to mute I have to back out.
4- The playlist on the Audio, XM screens uses a red highlight with black text to show current song. The red highlight makes it impossible to see. (see #1)
5- With respect to #4, if I change the colors in LSXCOLORS for section "/,playlist colors" it only affects the Audio screen, not the XM screen.

And some XM specific questions
4- What does Save Info do?
5- Does the 3rd blank button have a purpose? (It currently toggles Fav list)

This is going to be long, im really sorry. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

i have been playing around with roadrunner and this skin for the last week. I have a huge library of organized music, almost all full albums. I have been using iTunes for a year or two now, maybe thats why i dont understand the flow of playing audio? Anyway, here are my questions:

If I choose BBAA and my "folder" icons are set to the size thats 4 across and 2 down, why is the top row 6pixels further to the right than the bottom row? Its driving me nuts to look at. (blue lines, have to click view full size to seem them both)


Is there a way to change how the BBAA screen looks? I have 1700+ artists, I just want some type of list. Right now, I can only see 8 folder icons at a time. Maybe I am just organizing my music incorrectly. I have (for example) root\music\artist\albums\songs. I obviously wouldn't have any artwork for the artist folders so I get the folder icons (cd cases in my case). I felt like i was in windows when I would look for an an artist.


Are you guys just dumping your album folders into a folder, like root\music\albums\songs. That would make more sense. But then I would need have the BBAA screen display the artist names below the albums , but there are only 12 characters available below each album.

maybe this isnt the correct way to look up music to play? Should I be putting everything in a playlist and looking through it under the AUDIO button? Im so confused. I must be iTunes brainwashed. Please set me straight.

I want to be able to choose an album by cover art though, i love that idea. I dont like when you choose and album by the cover art through BBAA and then you get that large button view for each song. The red arrow icons are all pixelated.

From my searches, I take it roadrunner cant read embedded artwork? Right now i have to use mp3tag to export all the artwork, then run them through photoshop as a batch to convert them all the jpgs. I have 30,000+ songs.. what a pain in the ***. I would i have to do this everything I update my library with new albums?

Why are the album art sizes so weird in LSX? The main screen looks like it displays artwork as 110x106 pixels. Where did that number come from? the BBAA screen has the artwork as 145x120!? Can you adjust these sizes anywhere? If I resize all of my artwork in photoshop to 145x120, it still looks like **** when LSX shrinks it down to 110x106pixels:


If i did them to 110x106, obviously it would like looks **** stretched to 145x120. I must be missing something, can someone please straighten me out? I try to keep my artwork as perfect squares, all are 600x600 or less. iTunes seems to able to resize the artwork really well.

Also, where do I set the photo path? I see the video and audio path settings, but not photo. Do i need a plugin or something for this?

I really feel like I could love RR and this skin, i think i just need some help getting started.

Any helps or tips would be useful. I might just need the newb talk. I tried to search out these answers, but I couldn't find what I was looking for. Maybe you guys could give me a run down of how you have your folders laid out for audio and how you go about playing a specific song you want to listen to in RR using the LSX skin. I dont use playlists too often in itunes, i tend to change moods and switch songs a lot.

I have a request that may be seen as spoon feeding. I'd like to switch the FM button and the .net button. I can find the label but was wondering if you wouldn't mind posting the lines and location of the commands to switch rather than me digging for an hour or so (well maybe a half hour) seeing how you're much more familar with the code than I am.
The FM button has more application to me when driving than the .net button (wouldn't be surfing while driving anyways!).

Hold down the button until a menu appears with a list of buttons that can be used. This is how you change the button function.

Completely forgot! I've been digging in INI an TBL files so long I forget LS made it that easy!
