    clock text

    Figured out the clock text

I was sure I had edited that particular color in the txt file and it didn't change the clock tried it again and it worked

moved the vis - used the skin editor

fixed the transparency - max trans was set to 255 it would start out right and slowly get darker.

    Thanks for the help

just some info on the next update.

the day version is nolonger supported. What that means is the day version it self is now self contained and will not share updates from the night version. Its just too much work to keep them both in sync. Ill do an evaluation of the current state of the day version as it is now and see how much work would need to be done to bring it up to the current night state and maybe bring it up to par. It all depends. But after that, there will be no updates to the day version.

TRIP LOG plugin will be removed in the next update. Im sorry but it just simply does not work and a lot of times will just hang RoadRunner. If you use iGuidance this functionality is already built into the GPS app and will be easier to access in the update.

The GDI+ stuff being worked on in RR i believe is almost ready, if not ready to go.
The main menu, and secondary main menus (screens you see when you click the big L & R arrows) will support dynamic background images. Other select screens will also support this, like the audio player and a few others.

    other major changes will include

overhauled notes screen that will include:
ability to send email directly from inside RR, no external or embedded apps required. Receiving email is not supported. (yet)
Voice recorder, with future updates allowing to record XM & Sirrus.
Possible removal of the flash scribble pad for my own special sauce. This likely will be a future update to save time.

Many small cosmetic and functionality changes here and there, cant list them all here.

Im also working on some changes to the GPS screen layout. Not sure if it will be the default layout or an option like the main menu, and audio player but im trying to reduce the amount of screen switching from GPS to other screens mainly the audio player. So ill bring some of the features from the audio player to be directly on the gps screen, so you can use the presets, dir player, access the PL and LIB and even notes from the GPS screen, all without cluttering it up or significantly reducing the screen space of the gps map . Some change to igcontrol have also been made to access other functions of IG as well as a completely all new IG mod thats better viewable in daytime.
There is also a mod out now to view the next turn as a label so this will definitely be added before the update and fully integrated on as many screens as possible(or where it makes since).

Plus other stuff not mentioned here(maybe mentioned else where). Along with bug fixes as usual.

also note: Those waiting for releases, release days have traditionally always been on a Sunday. So even if i actually finish on a Monday, i wont send it out till the next Sunday. So every sunday that comes around i do make a conscious effort to actually release on that day. So just hang tight.

    LS,
Thanks for all your hard work i know this isn't easy. I've tried many of times to create my own skin. it takes a drive that i can't seem to find. But i tell you what i will be the first to give you full credit. Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next release.

this is what im thinking with the GPS screen.

Im hoping there isnt a significant dislike of the buttons on the left and right side. Ive been driving for about a week or so with those buttons and the reduced width of the map is barely noticeable. The fullscreen option is still avail so this shouldn't pose any issues for anyone stuck on the current version.

    Thoughts?

i personally perfer the flyout box. i usually just use the GPS for looks or when i'm actually using it i set the destination and away i go. so using the buttons as a flyout work just fine for me.

yeah LS that seems like it would be fine, I often would find that when I was using the GPS I would set the destination and then change to the audio or video player and just have the voice prompts guide me.

However, if I could have some more granularity in the audio controls available directly from the GPS screen, then I would probably just leave that up most of the time

    No day skin support?!?

    NOOOoooooooo!

I may not be upgrading, the day skin is one of the main attractions for me......

Is the gps flyout box still in 2.5? I don't see it on the screen.

Jury is still out on the side buttons. I would probably leave the GPS up like rigg419, just not sure if I like the loss of gps screen real estate and swapping back and forth from FS could be a PITA.......
Maybe you could make it so that the side buttons are "programmable" (ie: shuffle, repeat, power, etc) like your main screen buttons (press and hold) are to allow users to select what is the most useful for them on the screen? i think that would be very useful.

Keep up the good work though! ( I know you've said the day screen is a PITA to make and update, but please try to carry in with it. Very valuable and a unique feature of the skin IMO. In some lighting conditons, it's the only one that will work on mine!)

    Cheers

    BJ

the flyout will still be there, i just dont take screenshots with it cuz it gets in the way @800x480. Im actually on the tail end of updating the flyout. What ill likey do is provide the screenshot of the GPS above as an option similar to how there are two audio players so you can pick which one you prefer. I can also make it so the buttons are customizable will have to fit that into the schedule. My available time to work on the skin has dropped off significantly and im really only able to get a lot of work done on the weekends and nights.

As for the day version, i still have to evaluate and see how much the current day version is different than my local night version. I know it makes a world of difference in certain lighting conditions. But even if the updates dont make it to the day version, you can still use the night version without any issues afecting the earlier version. But ill do an evaluation of what needs to be done before i completely write it off.

GPS again: at first i had some reservations about loosing the map area on the side, but when i started actually using it I found that i really didnt miss or really need the extra map area on the side, esp if you have the direction traveling always pointed up. The map height is much more important.

Ive thought about actually making the map height go from top of the screen to the bottom. Rotating the CLOSE and ATT buttons to be like the ones on the side are so there would be 4 buttons on each side of the screen.
Remove the volume and Track sliders. Removing the pause button (since u still have the ATT) and make the PRE & Next buttons the only ones on the bottom. Maybe ill add that as another option Im curious now.

LS, Would it be possible to add FreePhone to the skin?
Its the only one that works really good with my phone, I've had too many problems with PhoCo.

    Auto start Visualization

I am struggling with this a bit

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I would like the visualization to autostart if possible. I am using the small vis skin if that makes any difference

    Thanks
