Thanks, aghazi - that did it after i renamed flash8a.ocx to flash6.ocx. Not sure what's in the flash.zip file mentioned here, but I didn't need it after all.

So I attempted to post two quick replies thanking aghazi and neither one is showing up. Yes, I'll do a search, but c'mon, it shouldn't be that hard!

EDIT: Oh, there they are - I think I know why that happened - someone had to eyeball the link (i.e. a mod) to make sure I didn't put in something I shouldn't have...

no go for today.

Im really close though, got a lot of work done on friday and today so far.

Ive converted all the screens i want to have dynamic backgrounds which was the biggest hold up from releasing 3 weeks ago. Added new gps layout options so u can choose from about 3 different layouts which will likely grow at some point after release.
Im still not 100% happy with the audio player. Im happy with the features in the audioplayer but the layout is not all good for me so before its said and done there will likely be another layout option for the audio player to go with the 2 present options.
Had to do some slight tweaking to the text colors as different backgrounds would make some of the text hard to read, mostly making the grey text a little more white.

There is still a lot of polishing to do though as this release is significant in new features,bug fixes, and a ton of code work, so its looking very much like a 3.0 release instead of 2.5. Also since the time available for me to work on the skin is about 50% of what it used to be, i want it to be as complete as can be with almost nothing being put off till a later release as i dont know when that later release may come.

So thing are looking good, very close.
Contest winners may actually get a beta release soon to test out.

Have you been able to salvage the day skin? Or is it just night?

the jury is still out on the day version. But to be honest, something really does need to be done as there are even times when i myself need to use the day version. So without writing anything in stone, im thinking of redoing the day version from scratch as i was never happy with the way it looked (it was pretty rushed). If i do it from scratch it def will be its own release. I still have to weight all the options and see whats the quickest thing to do vs the best thing to do and try to come somewhere in the middle.

if i get some time ill try to upload a video of the skin as its easier to see how everything works that way vs a static shot.

yeah i second the day version..
(it's easy for me to say this, I don't have to do the work )
i was tiring out the night version the other day and i couldn't read a thing, I forgot how bad it was.
switched to day and it was much better.. I've even been using the day version during the night. i have RR turn the gamma down so it not so bright.

Maybe you could have the buttons a light gray with black writing and have the center part of the skin change from light gray to dark gray.
the buttons will still be bright at night but the main bulk of the skin will be darker? get me?
