It works !!! with just the code above. it did flick ( I have no problem with it doing that.)
I also added a preload
I hope this was right. it looks like it is working . Just checking , this is right?
It loads the XM for me. I can see the XM screen load . It flips right to it. and back to main menu.( it does take another 2-3 sec ) But, again I have no problems with the beginning load times. As long as the press button time are slower.Code:preload=XM.skin;Initializing XM
In the GPS screen the " auto Config " button does not work. Others look fine.
one other thing.
the weather presets:
They were in the RR.ini file. And now they are in the Skin.ini file. in the rr file the preset were still there after we did the upgrade with your skins.with it being in the skin file. it gets over written every time. Is there a reason you moved it?
I guess I can just save that file and over write it.
Thanks a lot John.

I have it up and running...all I did was edit the options under RR Config to use the proper port...and edit the (I think) menu skin to read "SIRIUS" instead of "XM" as stated in the RR faq. I'm currently using line in on an audigy 2 NX.
Which brings me to my own question about Sirius integration (and I don't know whether this behavior is particular to the DigitalFX skin or not, so...). RR is set up to "unmute" the line in or whatever input to the soundcard you're using for satellite upon selection of satellite from the menu page. Unfortunately, the line in on my sound card picks up noise, in defiance of my efforts to provide a robust reference/ground to my system. For anything other than satellite, I'm not using line in, so in my config, I prefer to have it muted at all times other than when I'm listening to Satellite. Trouble is, the thing doesn't seem to re-mute the line in when I exit the satellite app and go to, say, the audio player. Selecting satellite from the menu, for me, is like pushing a "noise" button that I can't toggle off from within RR, I have to exit the app and use the Windows interface. Indeed, exiting RR itself also toggles my muted line in, no matter if I've been listening to satellite or not. This is frustrating.
My imaginary "perfect" setup would un-mute the line in to my soundcard when the "satellite" button on the menu screen is pressed...but would mute line in again upon selecting "music" from any point in RR. Also, it would mute line in upon exit from Road Runner. Is there a way to make this happen via a script command or some such?
BTW, currently using FX 2.0 and lovin' it. Thanks.

Very kewl, I am glad the XM worked out for you.
I moved the weather settings to the skin.ini file to try to keep stuff out of the rr.ini, that only this skin uses. Anyone reading this can remove the 5 weather presets from the rr.ini that look like this (Your cities will vary)
As for the "Auto Config" not working, I just checked and it was working BUT only on the GPS tall without the music at the top. Somehow I had different code on the GPS Music skin button. You can copy the code from the External_GPS.skin auto config button to the External_GPS_Music.skin file for now, or hang on, as it has been corrected, and will be in the next release.WEATHERPRESET01=Denver
WEATHERPRESET02=West Palm Beach
WEATHERPRESET03=Phoenix
WEATHERPRESET04=New York
WEATHERPRESET05=GPS Weather
Well 2 confirmations that the Sirius skin is working, thanks for that. I just have no way to test it here. I used the commands on the buttons straight out of the skin commands.txt file, and hoped for the best.
Unfortunately putting mute and unmute buttons in different places could cause a bit of chaos. As with Radio, TV, Music ect. I think your best bet is to simpy put an unmute command on the Sat Radio button, and a mute command on the button to exit the Sirius skin. This should be the easiest solution.
You can do this by changing the button code on the menu from "SIRIUS||LINEMUTE", and ""LINEMUTE||EXIT" on the "Menu" button on the Sirius skin. The problem is, they could get "out of sync" and cause the opposite reaction possibly, as the "LINEMUTE" is a toggle.

That's exactly the functionality I was looking for...but is there no way to get the status of muting and if/then it, rather than toggle it? Perhaps attatch the button to a script that pulls up the volpanel app in the background and looks at the check box? There's gotta be a better method than a straight toggle command with nothing to qualify it.

Unfortunately I do not know of a way. This has been a thorn in the side for a few things in RR, Mute is a toggle and even Play/Pause is a toggle.
Straight from the SkinCommands.txt file:
So the bottom line is, it can not be done in Road Runner in any current way."MUTE" - This allows you to mute/unmute ANY audio line (Based on it's name).
So unless you can find some sort of command line application that can mute and unmute, and report the status, I don't know what to say... sorry.

Just installed 2.22 (5/01/07).
Don't know if this is a bug or not, but I tried using the phone tool without having a BT-capable phone nearby. I got a message saying RR/DFX was trying to connect, but it never came back. I had to hit the main menu button to hide FreePhone.
Also, the high-res image for XM channel 1 was not there.
My xmcache.ini got overwritten again. Is there a tandard distribution of this file, or just copy & paste the latest one in this forum?
I just installed it, so I haven't had too much time on it yet, but it feels solid.
Yea, thats the way FreeFone is, it will just keep looking for a connection till it finds one. Just for that reason, the "Power" button on that skin kills the freephone app.
Damn! I thought I included that in the last release! I made it a few days ago. Anyhow here it is till the next release, just save this image to the XMart folder in the RR Root folder.

OK, I'm gonna research this. I don't have any experience w/ RoadRunner, but I run various things on my HTPC using Autohotkey (basic scripts), and I know there's a way from there to get the status of volume on different lines from Windows, and create if/thens. So long as I can alter the satellite button on the main menu, entry to any one of the music menus (browser, player, play list), and the behavior on exit from Road Runner, I should be able to figure out a way...there is a way to call outside apps from Road Runner, right? I could create a simple script for mute and another for unmute, and call them?
I know it sounds like a clunky way of getting around the problem, but then, so is exiting Road Runner just so i can bring up the volpanel and unmute.

John, is there any way to get the album art for XM26 and a few others that are missing in the next release? I noticed that the xmcache file is also missing these channels for some odd reason. I added the channels manualy to the cache file, but I still have no art. thanks
