Do you mind telling what file is that, pleas?

Well...you don't delete the file directly. Go into control panel, under power options, disable hibernation, click ok and exit control panel. Go back into control panel, power options and reenable hibernation. That's the proper way to do it.

I had an issue with my screen going black for a while. It would happen after driving for a while and also at startup sometimes. It turned out to be an issue with the lilliput screen. Hit the power button when this happens and see if it doesn't come back for you. Might be the same problem I had.

Most it runs really well, but I still run into these stability problems (the other is winamp stops playing all togather - restarting it via restarting RR or using task manager).

BTW: I have downloaded and installed the zip file referred to by post #1472 -- which has helped get rid of the random reboots, but not the above problems.

I'm having some spontaneous reboots and haven't yet been able to isolate the problem. Some of mine may be heat related now that the weather's gotten warm, but I also think something else may be going on. JOHNWPB said in an earlier post that it may be related to Sonic's city/state/zip add-on to Roadrunner, so I downloaded the earlier version of RR per his recommendation. That seemed to help with stability, but it's still not perfect.

Buying a new house and moving

Again I must apologizes to everyone for not keeping up with this thread lately! It has been crazy here with the first home purchase that I mentioned a couple pages back. All is on track, and closing should be the middle to the end of next week. In the mean time it has been coming up with the money for the deposit, scheduling carpet layers, to have it done 2 days after closing so furniture is moved only once, (Day after closing is for painting) dealing with the home inspectors, more and more paperwork, scheduling movers, packing, Home insurance, preparing to move all utilities (electric, Phone, DSL, Direct TV, address change paperwork and on, and on, and on!

It has been a very hectic couple of weeks, and hopefully, in around 2 weeks after the move and all, things will be back to normal! My current home looks like a bomb went off! Boxes everywhere, and all that is left in this room is just the computer desk with this computer .

Sorry again guys, and I plan to get back to the skin here and continue support when all this is done, but honestly, this purchase / move takes top priority right now.

HI, yesterday was the first time since a month that I noticed a restart and today for 30 minutes play it happens twice. I thougth the same problem as you. Heat. I noticed too that Freedrive that yesterday was working fine, today cannot be embended. That means that when i press any key outside his surface it goes to the background and that's all. Is this a coinsidence? (hope i wrote this right)

I don't know about your Freedrive problem. If software stops working suddenly, I'll usually do a chkdsk to see if some bad sectors or file corruption have cropped up on my drive.

I do think at least some of my reboots are due to heat. One thing you might want to do is check out the maximum surface heat spec for your CPU. Then keep an eye on the CPU heat in system diagnostics in the DigitalFX skin. My CPU is rated up to 160 degrees F and, sure enough, when it showed the CPU temp hovering in the 160 degree range the system rebooted.

I also recently upgraded my processor from a Celeron to a Pentium 4 and put in a video card. I believe my inverter is only 160 watts and using some of the system power requirement computers mentioned on this site, I found that my system now needs close to 250 watts. That could be a problem for me also so I have ordered a 300 watt inverter and will see if that helps.

No need to apologize, John. Everybody seems to be doing a good job of filling in the holes while you're gone, though we do miss you. Keep your focus on more important matters and we'll look forward to having you back when things calm down for you. Good luck with all the house stuff! (Especially since Wifey and I could use a nice, comfortable place to stay when we go to the horse shows in Wellington )

Roadrunner and Digital FX installation error

Been lurking for a while and decided to take the plunge into the Car PC world. I have begun my build by ordering parts and accessories. Should all arrive early next week. In the meantime, I thought I would install RR and digital FX on my desktop to familiarize myself. I tried it on two different pc's and got the following error on both:

c:\program files\road runner\skins\zots.day\does not contain a valid skin! Check you settings and try again!

    What/where is the zots.day folder?

I also tried another rr install and put it to a different hard drive. Got the same error but with a different folder. (Can't remeber folder name now as it is on home pc)

    Any help is apperciated.

    Thanks!

You have "Zots" skin as the "skin path" in RRconfig..change it to DigitalFX.
