Phoco would be sufficent as in my example, then you need to set up phoco in RRConfig. There should be a FAQ or at least a thread on setting up Phoco in RRConfig.

    IG4 Support?

Does anyone know if Digital FX 2.0 will function properly using iGuidance version 4?

I haven't tried IG4, but I'd bet since DFX2 includes a special build of IG3 that IG4 won't work so well, for now.
TruckPC - gutted, being used for test setup
BoatPC - off season - Inelmac screen needs serviced again!
BlazerPC - last vehicle PC I'll build

I suspected as much. Now, I wonder where I can get my hands on a copy of version 3.....

What does IG4 have over IG3 that is worth the switch?

I'm not familiar with either of them. However, the iNav website sells IG4 but not IG3. Not being able to purchase the GPS plugin that DFX requires is pretty significant.

    iGuidace 4.0

Hello everyone, I have not been posting much here, with the new house and all, but have been trying to follow the thread at least.

I did some checking into IG4 and it does look like a nice improvement. There are a few new features that I like. Mainly the Text to speech of the street names. Instead of "Turn Right", you will hear "Turn Right on Maple Drive".

Some other major improvements are an improved 3D view, many more POI's that are now sorted alphabetically by distance or by city, and a full screen mode.

Another major improvement is that they did away with the map loader. The North America version will now have a seamless map of the US & Canada.

They also say that the UMPC / CarPC version has a completely new GUI.

I have yet to shell out the $79 for the new version, as I have a few other priorities right now.

The bottom line is, I can guarantee that it will not work with the DigitalFX skin, or any other skin that supports iG3.0 right now. The AUtoIt scripts running in the background to control iG are very dependant on the way the buttons are positioned on menu's and the names of the buttons.
Front End of Choice: Ride Runner (Is there anything else??? ) & Powered by the DFX5.1 Skin Available in the Mobile App Mart

Sorry for the N00b question, but can iG4 run as a unique application within RR but without the DFX skin? That way, late adopters can still use iG while DFX is (hopefully) updated.

I am not sure how the native embedding by RR of iG will handle it. If all else fails though, it can be embedded as a simple external app. All features of iG would still be available, by using the "Menu" button in iG itself. It just means a lot more presses to get to something buried in the iG menu's is all.

Thanks. iG3 is still available on ebay for a few dollars less than iG4...seems that iG4 is the better value. However, is it realistic to expect a new version of DFX in the near future that incorporates iG4?
