The zips.dat discussion is just related to the data tile to perform zip code lookups used by GPS Stats, Weather, etc. This function has been around for a while with DFX.

I have a simple question, at least I hope so.

How is the motion lock detected ? Mine is disabled, but it leads to another question I have. I have the gps speed volume "OFF" and no gps hooked up. But for some very strange reason, my volume decreases when I slow down ? With out the gps hooked up how does in know where to set the volume at ? Plus I have it off ?? This is why I'm asking how the motion lock is detected. Is there a correlation between the two ?

This only happened recently, after I had to reinstall windows. After I was a dumbass and disabled my video drivers and got the black screen after the windows splash screen.

It seems strange that this was never happening before

Ok, if you have no GPS device hooked up whatsoever, then it is not windows in any way controlling the volume. There is just no way for windows/rr to know you slowed down without any speed input from a GPS device.

I am willing to bet that you have the volume going through your head unit. I am also willing to bet that this is a feature of your head unit. I have a Pioneer head unit, that has ASL (Auto Speed Leveling) built into it, and thus never use the GPS speed volume in RR. Look for a setting on your head unit... something like ASL, ATT or something like that.

As for the instability, with the beta that has been fixed. This problem should also go away completely on which version of RR to use, the official, beta1, beta2 and so forth. I got a PM from Guino yesterday that Sonix's Reminder based on GPS location, the City, State, County & Zipcode labels, and the GPS weather stuff, and a few other things people have added. So, soon as Guino gets all this finalized, and releases the next RR release, all will be well throughout the land

This was my first thought also ! and I don't remember seeing/reading anything about speed volume control on my head unit. It never adjusted the volume before ??

    Doesn't matter ..

    Thanks,

Does anybody have any idea on this one. Sorry to bump my own question, but it is driving me crazy. If I should post this in another forum, please let me know.
    Thanks,

I've searched the forums for setting focus, but have not found a solution. One post said that if Winamp is started before RoadRunner is launched, focus will remain with RoadRunner. I tried this and it worked. However, I would prefer to find a way to do this within RR, if possible.

    Thanks,

This may be too simple an answer, but did you make sure you chose "Hide Winamp" in RRConfig?

I tried it, but it still held the focus. One of the frustrating things about this is that it only does this with the Digital FX skin. With all Winamp and RR settings the same, it does not happen in other skins.

Add all files to playlist issue

In the audio browser screen if i am at the root level (music root) and hit the up a directory (..) icon, it caused all songs to be added to the current playlist. Most people using my carPC interface are beginners, and when they hit this button on accident, it boggs the cpu down trying to add all 20k songs into the list. Is there a way to change this icon's meaning when browsing the root music directory?

Hmmm It is obviosally something with the DFX skin then, but I honestly have no clue why WA would maintain focus when it is hidden. I wish I could help with this one, but I just have no clue as to what to search for to fix.....

You can use HideDots=True in the rr.ini. This will get rid of the .. up directory thing completely. The "curved up arrow thingy" to the right of the list will just go up to the root music folder and stop there

This file has recently become the bane of my existance.

Being so large, it is really hard to proof it, and because I really only test one state, it makes it hard.

I will again take a look, and see if I can finally get this thing working correctly.
