    Zip.dat error & System Crash

    Hello Everyone,

I am having an issue after upgrading RR to the latest version. My system crashes about 2-3 minutes after RR starts with an Zip.dll / Zip.dat error.

I've applied SP1 and replaced the original zip.dll and Zip.dat with the files in post Post 2134 l. I set the localdatainterval settings to 1. My system still crashes.

Prior to updating RR, things worked fine. Suggestions?

How did you update flash? you have to do it with IE or the stand-alone installer floating around here.

P.S. It's not worth the trouble you might run into by installing tinyXP; install a full version of XP..there is no noticeable difference in performance.

Will the City, State, Zip Code, features still work in the GPS Stats screen and / or the iGuidance zip view? (2nd GPS window view option) ?

I'd have to disagree on that one. I tried a full install of XP. The lowest I could get boot times were in the 30-40 second range. I used Nlite and imported the ini from Windows XP Stripped to the bone and installed that version. Boot times are right at 17 seconds and it uses a lot less memory (I put 256mb in to speed up return from hibernation...so far, I've yet to reach 220mb of memory usage with everything running). Maybe this can be gotten from tweaking a full version of xp, but I'd rather rip the crap out that I don't use in the first place, speed up the install, and get the system running instead of spending more time tweaking XP.

It is a valid point though

Agreed. A custom strip like yours could be faster but i guarantee you, he/she will regret it if he/she try to use a USB radio (just to name one device, there are others that don't work)..the drivers are NOT in tinyXP.

very true... I did remove most of the drivers, so any that would be needed would have to be installed. The rest seems to work like a dream though... never thought I'd see the day when I run XP on 256mb ram

But, I do have an issue someone may be able to she light on.

I recently upgraded from RR 9-9-2007 and DFX2.5 to RR 9-30 and DFX2.5... not sure if it's a skin issue or a RR issue, but in the Music screen when I hit Visualization I can no longer cycle through the visualizations by touching the screen in the visualization window. To change it, I have to exit RR, open winamp, select the new vis, then go back into RR.

Is this a setting somewhere in RR or the DFX skin?
