XM has long worked fine for me. Recently, for some unknown reason, I cannot tune any channel higher than 129. All channels above that are listed as 000 and either "Talk", "news" or "sports". No content info is given.

I have verified that my Xmcache has all the channels in it and it is even read only to prevent it from getting corrupted. All my channels below 129 work fine as they did before. I a bummed out because I need the MLB channels in the worst way right now since it's October.

have you tried to copy that xmcache file and tring to take it off read only file. So, it can be updated.

I think they updated there channels list.

Ok, I canceled my XM subscription about 6 months ago, so can't test it here.

What I can say, is the skin for XM has not changed since January, in any way. Are you guys able to get the stand alone XM application to go to the higher channels? I wonder if it could be something to do with the buy out, and merging stations or something. That or something changed in RR's code? Wish I could help more, but can just say that this skin has not change in almost a year.

Hmmm If I remember, I had to uninstall winamp, then delete the residual files in the winamp folder, and reinstall 5.13 to get it to embed in the correct spot again.

I have tried both read only and not. No good. Must be an RR issue then. This sucks.

Sorry! I missed that post when I glanced through them earlier. You can set up the maps and cities for whatever you want, as it is not.

For weather Maps:

Go to this folder (Path may be a little different in your system:

C:\Program Files\Road Runner\skins\DigitalFX 3.0\Weather

Open the weather.ini file in notepad, or another text editor of choice.

The 3 sections you are interested in are:
[SectionTemperature]
[SectionRadarAnimate]
[SectionSatelliteAnimate]

(The static images are not used now, and are just left over before I added animated maps.)
You can change the URL's and the file names to whatever want them to be. just MAKE SURE that the radar and satellite images are animated gif's, and the temperature map is a jpg. Just find the image location from a local weather site, news station, home page portal, and copy and paste that URL into the weather.ini file.

Oh, and by the way, this is all explained in great detail in the help file now that I think of it

As for entering a City for other than in the United States:

Just enter the city name, either followed by the country code, or the country name spelled out. It depends sometimes how weather.com com stores the information

For Frankfurt, Germany for instance I just tried "Frankfurt, Germany" and it shows it being 42 F at the moment (Brrrr!)

(This is becoming routine me fixing up your machine at the meets now, isnt it! LOL ) Hopefully we can figure out what is causing this, as its not just 1 or 2 people from what I have seen.

Can anyone verify if this is only with the DFX skin, or is it doing the same thing in other skins as well? Just a hunch, but I would be willing to bet that its happening on other skins as wel. The XM skin in the DFX skin, just uses the basic RR commands for the buttons, and labels, and there are no scripts in place to screw anything up or alter anything.

Hey thanks for the reply!, first i wanted to thank you for this wonderful skin! /respect.

All of the above i did read in the help file

, the thing is.. when i click on interactive map ( the very nice flashy radar from weather.com, its centered on usa and i cannot change it to europe, and second when you click for example radar + sataleit it uses the gif's from the ini file.

what happens is the gifs file from europe ( i changed the files to my local weather station ) will be centered on the usa. I hope you understand what im trying to tell

. Thats why i wondered if you can make a seperate usa/europe weather option so that the interactive map + gifs are correctly overlapping.

I didn't realize you were talking about the interactive weather button. That is a flash application from Weather.com. I unfortunately have no control over the maps, and images displayed with that. The only thing that can be changed in the skin are the Radar, Satellite and temperature maps. Sorry....

No problem

I have been tempted to hook the XM up to my desktop here, and subscribe for a month, just to see whats going in. Thats kinda of a waste of money, so will see what else can be figured out before using that as a last resort.
