Thread: Digital FX 2.0 Transparent Released

John, ahem, where do I get the special glasses like you have to work on the skin in RR Skin Editor? It's like working with invisible ink, LOL! How do YOU do it?

I opened up 2.0 for the first time to move the online indicator or somethin' and I thought my contacts were in too long. Nothing shows up with the white on white...transparent skin...yeah I get it now, duh.

The editor has settings to show the borders as a different color, and that helped a little, but it was hunt and peck through the labels to fine the one I wanted to mess with. Kinda cool learning experience though.

I would think it is easier to just to edit the code in notepad? Is that the trick?

I will have the GPS button fixed in the next release then. I figured I couldnt be the only one seeing this happen with iGuidance.

Yea, the Skin Editor was created before the whole transparency thing and dosent support PNG's. Makes it a bit tough. I actually do quite a bit of little stuff in notepad now. When I need to line up something graphically, I have a copy with the old JPG's I can use. Then I just copy the skin over, and rename the screen names in the skin to .png's again.

pRoFiT is working on an updated version of the skin editor to keep up with the times Hopefully it won't take too long!

I think I have the same issue. It only happens when I'm sitting still, once GPS has already been opened once. Clicking any button or clicking and dragging the (invisible) map brings it back in sight. Just figured it was a iG glitch.

Morris, Rcubed and Jnit: If you guys could test this for me that would be great! Open the menu.skin file (located in the DigitalFX skin folder) in a text editor.

Find this line:

and replace it with this line:

Keep in mind that if you change the main menu layout through the skin (Digital clock, 3D logo ect), the changes will be overwritten. There are actually 5 different variations of the menu screens in the "Menus" sub-folder.

It is working perfectly here, but would like to get some more input, so I don't do the next release with code that may have adverse effects that I am not seeing here.

Same problem on my CarPC and home PC. Pressing any button brings IG into view. I thought is was just my problem but I guess it's more than that.

Yup - no adverse effects here. Sitting still in my driveway I can switch to and from and it always shows up.

edit-it flashes a couple times but thats better than having to manually hit it. can you do the same for the player screen?

Can do tomorrow. Not going to the car anymore tonight. By the way, I don't know what you did to the 2.11 release, but it fixed all my problems (including flash) & now the skin is working great. Kudos to you on an amazing job!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to profit's next skin editor release so I can modify it a bit since I don't use sat radio - with the 1.0 release I changed it to the google earth plugin & hope to do that here too.

Me too. I changed that line in the menu.skin file, and that fixed it.
