Guys - I think the laggyness / hanging issues I reported only happern with with a combination of hibernation events, slow CPU setting & transittions off setting.

I'm playing around with this on my 12000 at the mo and I can report that with the default options on ( fast CPU / Transitions on ) although its slower it seems pretty stable.

I also noticed that when exiting my settings / eq settings after saving it gave the restart skin msg - some thing I do not get other wise under the optimised settings.

I am using slow CPU setting and transitions off. everything run great over at my end. But then I am not using Hibernation just shutdown. Transition doesn't work right when you use MPC as a video player. It black out and all you see is the skin. I can save my EQ setting with no issue. I have all 5 preset and never have to restart the program. What I notice about the EQ saving is that you click and hold for 2 sec then let it go then it save.

I've noticed also what ccsnet has pointed out on the lag.

I just loaded it up last night and I've noticed that some of the transitions and effects seem a bit laggy. I changed the settings to have a slow processor speed and that helped some.

However, running a P4 Mobile processor, I don't think that it should be considered a slow processor.

Also, when enterring the "Status" page, just a vertical bar shows up and I have to click the top of the bar where I can only see the left side of the clock in order to proceed to the settings page.

Otherwise, I'm loving the skin so far and looking forward to the updates and, most of all, the finished product!

Drop that iPhone skin and work on this one again!!

Status has not been done. Take it out in the skin and you wont have that problem. I am running this on a CoreDuo on one of my car and this skin has lag time. Either way its a great skin.

Try setting to fast CPU / Transitions. You get a message come up after you save your new EQ setting and exit the screen which says it has to restart. Like I say - I'm playing.

basically you load it up. Determine first what port your actual GPS is on.
Within the Xport program, you pick that source port and than you click on "virtual ports" at the bottom section.

Once you click "enable ports" these new virtual ports will be created. For mine, my GPS is on port 3 and i created virtual port 7 and 8.

From within the road runner config to enable the compass i said that my GPS was on port 7 and from within iguidance (or your GPS program of choice) i slected my gps to be on port 8.

    Hope that helps.

    BTW- Great skin CDRskull!
I'm running into a problem here, and I'm sure it is something stupid. I have Xport working fine. I have i-guidance setup to look to comm7 and it works fine on its own, but when run inside of RR, it does not get any GPS info sent to it. It was all working fine before playing with xport.

Also you mention using RR config to direct compass to port 8, where is this?

    I know, retarded questions..

Great skin! I really enjoy all of the hard work you have put into this!

Just started thinking of getting a small LCD to show some music info and so on and realized I heard something about a plugin from you CdR:
    LCDplugin/PATHplugin/PORTSplugin - 100%
Anyone have some info what the LCDPlugin does?

I am not sitting at my CarPC but the comport for the GPS input for RR should be under the "GPS" tab at the top and then a comport setting within that.

So if your GPS receiver is com 3 in windows it would be the input to Xport, and the outputs would be 7 for iguidance and 8 for Roadrunner (7 and 8 are just examples).
Anyhow I believe there is a tab called "GPS" if not just scroll down, you can't miss it!

Thanks for the reply, I was fearing I should not have posted the question here.

That is exactly what I have set up, but it is not working reliably. Something funny going on, but I'll post that up in a GPS based thread instead, it should not be here. Just another annoying issue to work through.

    Thanks!

I was having issues similar to that. I would setup iGuidance outside of RR to look at a port and it would work fine, however when I would exit and try to open it with RR, it would lose the comport setting. When I would open iGuidance again, it would have defaulted to COM 1 because it didn't recognize the virtual COM ports as a GPS receiver.

I found a workaround for it that worked out for me. I changed whatever was using COM 1 in the Device Manager to a different port, setup Xport to split COM 4 (my GPS receiver's port) to COM 1 and COM 10, then let iGuidance default to COM 1 and set RR to read from COM 10.

Maybe you can try that. Wasn't the best solution, but that stubborn iGuidance wasn't wanting to remember the port I set it to. Hope that helps!

Yeah, I asked in an xport thread, so will carry on over in there rather then in a skin thread. But i-guidance keeps watching the correct port. Sometimes it works when run on its own, sometimes it does not. Usually does not work from inside RR.

    Thanks,
