First Skin - Digital Abyss

Technically this is my second skin, but this one I made a few more major changes to everything.

Main Menu

GPS (iGuidance 3.0)

DVD Screen (layout partially borrowed from CrystalBlue)

My own addition (I designed this screen for car shows), "full screen" Visualization screen.

And since I use my phone to control the PC, I had to redesign the phone screen as well.

Question, how did you get Window media player as the DVD player?

It was part of the script for the crystal blue DVD screen skin file (although I had to edit the path to Windows Media Player, I used that skin file as a base, just changed the graphics to match my existing skin in progress. The DVD screen that I had originally wasn't working right.

For the record, I only used the text for the DVD screen from CrystalBlue as a base and edited it to my use.

I think it looks pretty great! The only thing I would like to see changed is the font on the buttons...they are kind of hard to read...otherwise, very nice! cant wait for the release!

I agree....i love the skin but i think it would look better with a simpler more legible font. Keep up the good work m8

yea the font is very centrafuse and is rather tough to read. its good for titles and stuff but other than that..

I used Handel Gothic Bold in my original skin, but thought it was too plain. The current font is Planet Kosmos. I like the stylized look to it, and out of my 2000+ fonts, I like it the most. I installed it in my truck last night and will try it out for a week or so. How do I go about releasing a skin btw??

Right, so after a month of use....

I agree that the Planet Cosmos Font is difficult to read, I still like it though. Currently searching for a suitable alternative. Delaying all of this though, is the fact that I finally caved and got a touchscreen (Lilli 701), so I now have 2 monitors in the centre console, one touch, the other not. I am currently going to be making the skin into a 1024*1536 version to span the 2 screens. I'll post up some progress pics later.

A few bugs in the skin that I need to work out (and would love any help on):
1) if I start visualizations in the audio screen, then switch to the fs visual screen, I have to turn of visu and turn it back on for it to position itself and show up.
2) sometimes i can't click on the IG screen itself embedded in RR. i get that stupid "doink" sound from windows. I press the 3d/2d button, then try again, and it's fine.
