Any idea what this will run like on my carputer, thinking bout integrating it into my skin. (My specs are on my profile)?

Hope CDR can solve the flash problem...

i'm so sure that it works, that i have it working now in, CDR's iPhone skin(my favorite skin, along with flashdeck.).it works like in any skin.i was gonna post a pic to show, but i don't think is ok.
is not my skin.

I also have it working in my own volvo skin too. I've been testing it out on my decent deskop (P4 2.6 ghz 512 mbram and nvdia 5500 vid card) and with the cover_browser.skin in focus, CPU is constantly between 80-95% but at least now all of the other skin buttons are responsive! El, its coming along well, good job again.

Great work, still somewhat buggy while running in my skin but the coding is only half done. I do notice that it takes 90%+ resources on my desktop, it will probably strangle my via in the car. While its running it takes over and will not let me exit the screen. Like I said though I'm shoehorning your code into my skin so it will take some coding to make all the links right. Anyway great base, great idea for RR, and thanks for sharing

Yeah I know..I'm kicking myself because my Intel MB takes RDRAM!!! Just more expensive. Crapola.

About the resources thing, I find if you make the whole swf smaller in your skin it also helps the "taking over control" of the skin and also cpu usage.

Another thing, El Camino, we need to make this none transparent. I've done it in my original swf. Search for "mask.alpha" in your code and change it to 0. I believe its at the bottom of Nathan's original code. Also, to make the background black, the last movieclip in the FLA is the mask ( i believe), its just an orange/yellowish square right now. Fill it in black, make it a rectangle and stretch it out a bit. This along with the mask.alpha above should also help the cpu usage.

one little update,i included in the package one version with no transparency, speeds up things a bit. don't forget to add solid to the object. hope cdr can help us soon with this. see the cpu load now,

that label is just to show the difference.

I also hope CDR can help here in some way or another, or someone that knows a bit more about flash than the rest of us.

At this point, I have had to totally give up on this. I am not, by any means, a flash programmer, and am lost when it comes to this.

I have this working on my home computer, at around 90+ CPU. Mind you this is a P4 Dual Core computer with 3 gigs of Ram. When I tried to use this on the CarPC, it just totally locked it up as far as using the CPU.

This is something I have wanted for a long time, but at this point, is just not able to function as one would want.

Gotta check this new version out. I assume just the swf is modified from the last version so in theory I can just copy the new version swf into my skin folder to replace the old, add the "solid" command to the flash tag in the skin and I should see the difference?
