    Thanks!

Do we have to Embed our own Ob2 Software Or how does that work?

Yep you need an external OBD2 program. I use diagnose.

blk02si, I haven't had a chance to upgrade to the new version, have you worked on the SAT skins at all?

    I just read your Read_ME.txt.

Changing label colors is actually very simple.

For example, let's take your menu.skin:
    Code:
    L,712,3,74,45,255,255,255,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=SET","CENTER"
    L,600,3,74,45,255,255,255,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=APP","CENTER"
    L,484,3,74,45,255,255,255,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=VID","CENTER"
    L,357,3,90,45,255,255,255,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=NAV","CENTER"
    L,244,3,89,45,255,255,255,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=SAT","CENTER"
    L,120,3,98,45,255,255,255,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=FM","CENTER"
    L,13,3,85,45,255,255,255,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=MP3","CENTER"
    L,11,340,136,63,255,255,255,48,"DS-Digital","VOLUME","LEFT"
    L,2,74,344,30,255,255,255,18,"ISOCPEUR","AUDIOTRACK","SCROLL-LEFT"
    L,576,342,216,62,255,255,255,48,"DS-Digital","TIME","RIGHT"
    L,658,76,137,28,255,255,255,18,"ISOCPEUR","DATE","RIGHT"
    Change to:
    Code:
    L,712,3,74,45,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=SET","CENTER"
    L,600,3,74,45,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=APP","CENTER"
    L,484,3,74,45,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=VID","CENTER"
    L,357,3,90,45,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=NAV","CENTER"
    L,244,3,89,45,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=SAT","CENTER"
    L,120,3,98,45,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=FM","CENTER"
    L,13,3,85,45,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,30,"ISOCPEUR:B","=MP3","CENTER"
    L,11,340,136,63,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,48,"DS-Digital","VOLUME","LEFT"
    L,2,74,344,30,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,18,"ISOCPEUR","AUDIOTRACK","SCROLL-LEFT"
    L,576,342,216,62,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,48,"DS-Digital","TIME","RIGHT"
    L,658,76,137,28,#SHOCKR#,#SHOCKG#,#SHOCKB#,18,"ISOCPEUR","DATE","RIGHT"
    and add line in menu.skin:
    Code:
    INC,SHOCKCOLORDEFINITION.txt
Now, create a text file named SHOCKCOLORDEFINITION.txt located in the skin folder that has the following lines in it:
    Code:
    /,Shock Font Color
    /DEFINE SHOCKR 255
    /DEFINE SHOCKG 255
    /DEFINE SHOCKB 255
Do that for all the labels in your skin. This way, all you'd have to do is write/edit the RGB definitions in SHOCKCOLORDEFINITION.txt to change the label colors to do a global font color change to your skin.

See Skin Commands.txt for more info.

Thanks blk02si for replying to my original message - just got home from work and thought I'd give your suggestions a go - first thought I have downloaded and installed the latest RR update (09/09/09) - missed that one!

The M3U menu is for saving loaded files in the audio_player to a xxx.m3u playlist in the path you specify in rr.ini as playlistpath. The reason to edit the pls.skin is for the directory browsing of the M3U files. This just lets the skin know where to look for displaying the contents. I would try creating a couple new playlists with the skin to get the feel for how it works before trying to load older ones or files generated with another skin. The audio_browser is a directory browser for all your files to load them in audio_player.
I tried this, still with no success. I first tried the MP3 audio playlist selector (pressing "MP3" twice) and was got this:

Pressing "new" puts a "1" in the top left hand hand of the shaded area.
Pressing "add" does nothing and I get a windows "ding" system sound.
Pressing "root", "clear", and "enter" does nothing.

Where am I going wrong? I assume my 10 odd playlists should be here and I should be able to select them? As mentioned in my previous post I have altered the pls.skin file as requested in the readme.

The osk works for the applications menu, web and M3U menu. Load a list and try saving it with M3U menu, it will launch the osk and prompt you to enter a filename for the playlist.
Ah I understand why the OSK was included now! I didn't realise it was "called" by the other menus when required! Doh

I tried to test what you asked by loading winamp with a playlist (R.Kelly album). Then started RR, and went to the M3U menu. The "Refresh list" button appears to do nothing, and the "load selection" button clears my R. Kelly playlist from winamp? So I reloaded it into winamp, and instead went into the M3U menu and selected "save list as" and gave it the name "rrr". I then checked my playlist direction "E:\Playlists" and rrr.m3u is in there, but again it doesn't show up anywhere in RR?

Upon first launch the analyzer wil often hide behind the EQ or another window of winamp. Move said window to reveal. You can statically configure it from there.
I went into the MP3 menu and selected visual, and you can see the visual display pop up behind the winamp playlist. Clicking it brings it to the front but it cannot be dragged, although you can right-click it to access the various options. Shouldn't it automatically embed?

The blinking bar is on the bottom of the X button and is somewhat hard to see if you have a very dark background. It is present on every skin though.
Tried the mute button a couple more times, but still can't see anything - maybe as you stated I simply can't see it because of my dark background?

Hope this helps C4DAO, I know you got shock v3 running good so this should be a piece of cake for you
You'd think wouldn't you! I have to admit the above has stumped me though - if you can I'd be very happy!

    Cheers!

    Hey C4DAO

Most of your symptoms are RR config errors and not the skin. You need to have your music directory in rr.ini. If you don't you wont see any listings of files under the browser menu.

The visual embedding is present for AVS, Milkdrop, ETC. The analyzer included is an older simple DLL style plugin but its highly configurable. I set mine to cover up the buttons but you can put it anywhere and it will remember its colors, settings, placement, etc.

THANK YOU Sal R., for another GREAT post. You want to be a joint developer??

I have read skin commands a few times, but having someone explain, and use my own code for an example has got me completely understanding what these functions do. Again, thank you very much for helping me out, your information is exactly what I was looking for.

    Just trying to help.

Had to comb through a lot of the more advanced skins to figure out how to use that feature.

As far as development goes, I'd be happy to lend a hand. All part of being in a community, right?
