Backgrounds For Transparent Skins

I know I don't publish RR skins anymore, but I do enjoy the brilliant work of the skinners here that do and now that more and more are switching to the transparent backgrounds, I have a request for all RR Skinners:

Can we establish a standard backgrounds directory location for all background files?

I like switching between several skins and switching between backgrounds, but I've had to manually reprogram most "background.skin" files to all point to the same background directory (I personally have mine as a subdirectory of my picspath called "backgrounds." Many of you have yours coded for skinpath and with my limited diskspace this had become excessively redundant. I also like it in the picspath for those skins that don't preview the backgrounds.

The code change is simple enough for most skins, i.e.,

And I understand it makes installing a little more tedious, but even if it is decided to create the directory under RRpath, that would be an improvement.

What does anyone else think of this idea?

I agree with you and will impliment this plan in to my skin. The background directory should be $rrpath$background. I think this will make it universal for all skins. Some may not want to have there background files located in the picspath

It's in the new config program, the skins just don't use it 'yet'.

i already put this feature in road runner. Just define your backgroundpath in rr.ini i.e backgroundpath=C:\backgrounds\.. then reference $backgroundpath$ for your path to the images
