I really like the new Nissan systems. Creating this look alike would be sweet. What needs to be done, a few PNG art files to get things started? I can probably handle that.

im currently working on a carwings skin for centrafuse, at least trying too, so hard to skin that app but since i still use RR in my car also, im considering making this skin for RR in flash as this is much easier than skinning CF,

anywho, heres a link to a screenshot:
    http://forums.fluxmedia.net/showthread.php?t=1982

will be flash compatible, animated menues and screen transitions...
it will have your basic setup at first, like main scrren, audio player/browser/coverflow, video player/browser, and navigation... might add more screens later... no eta cause im working on another skin for RR also... it takes time

    Looks great marazi.

Was feeling artsy myself so I decided to draw up some carwings PSDs to play with. I also want to emulate a nice clean menu structure. This skin can be done with nice menu effects, fades and such without using flash. I'm going for flash free. I started coding with this art in a simple RR skin that launches the "radial" menu by hitting the RR button. With the transitions capability set I just have that menu fade in.

dopefish, i really love this skin and i am willing to help anyway i can!

also, i stumbled upon this thread http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/engi...oftware-2.html

they have skinned a dashboard program to look like the carwings gauges page, and it would be really simple to embed the app into road runner. just thought it was something you should see.

Yeah I found that too Mike, and was thinking the same thing.

    @ blk02si

Good start there mate, although IMO I'd keep as close as possible to the carwings look. Will watch with interest!

Its going to be hard sticking to an exact replica look since the actual carwings system has many hard buttons for data input. If we want this to work on a touch screen it will need buttons (even if there hidden) for volume and track/playlist management. I am still working on this as a side project to keep my skinning skills sharp.

I'm definately looking forward to anything you produce mate. Have you done anything more on this over Christmas?

As for the buttons - maybe go for the clean look of the carwings menus, and implement a pop up button bank for controls? If you wanted to be extra fancy you could model the pop up bank on the actual controls of the Skyline

So far got menu, menu_2, audio_player, audio_browser and a popup control menu done.

It looks clean without any volume and < > buttons on the interface but when ever you want to change volume or track you need to launch the control menu. Its different than what I'm used to but i made the popup menu transparent so so can see though it.

Either way I am going to work on this more and release an alpha version soon!

Excellent mate! Looking forward to seeing a Beta soon.

Happy new year to you, and good luck with your IG issue raised in another thread - hopefully you'll get the answer your looking for (if done it will look great!). Are you planning to support D6 as well?
