    Rapide skin (beta phase)

wanted to do a skin that is simple and targets specific functionality. I primarily use GPS, Movies, Music, Pics. I dont not use Radio/TV/Web etc (well not yet anyway) and I just hate cluttered interfaces...I want something cool and funky, I do not want to have many options just to confuse the hell out of everyone...although ultimately i would like to make a skin that has a nice interface, easy and simple to use, and where you can customise the menus that you want to use. This will probably be in flash.

I have only worked on the main screen and the exit menu. This skin is still in its conception stage and I just wanted to know what you guys think of it. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Some buttons on the exit screen are not very intuitive, but im working on that, like for example the big BMW logo will take you back to the main screen...I havent figured out what I am going to do for the AUDIO, MOVIE, GPS, and PICS screen, but if the feedback is positive I will design some skins using the same style. Please feel free to evaluate.Looking forward to your feedback.

Remember this is work in progress, still looooong way to go for an official first release!!! Thank you

Work carried out so far: Main Menu skin & Exit menu

There seems to be a lot of Apple inspired skins lately, not my style but I have to admit they are all VERY clean and elegant looking. Quite tasteful and functional.

    Different,

bit big and in yer face, but somehow also quite clean and refreshing with that black and white contrast of a background.

I've always admired the simple skins over the overly complex and busy ones.
Are you going to be using a Car2PC adapter to control audio functions or have you not incorporated those buttons into the skin yet?

I like where this is going. The hard part will be making the whole thing look like it's all one skin; using the same buttons, etc.

So far in my current setup I have RoadRunner running with IBUSCOMM which controls the IBUS on my E46 for volume etc. Im not too sure how it will work with other makes/models.

At the moment I primarily want to develop this skin for BMW's. The volume buttons control the master volume on the PC, IBUSCOMM does all the rest!! I am going to try to keep the style: elegant, clean, and functional. Thanks for your input guys, keep em coming!!!

I will soon post some pics of the skin working in my car, when I get back from work. If you play with the skin, you will notice that the speaker image will be blanked out when volume is set to 0. As the volume is turned up, the speakers image will gradually come to full brightness...

I will try to make the buttons consistent but im not very good at creating graphics and such, however there is no harm in learning!
