First to grab it!
I am happy to announce that version 6.0 of the shock skin series has been made public. this is by far the most feature packed version of shock to date. Thank you to everyone who has contributed code, tips and ideas for further development in the shock skin v5.0 thread! The skin would not be this far along without your help.
Shock skin criteria has always been small, lightweight, simplicity, consistency and rock solid. This version is cleaner (art and code) than any previous release and all of the menus, although similar have been changed for the better in some way. You will really see a difference when you upgrade from v 5.0
Please note that although fully functional and working great the HD menu (radio_player.skin) is at this moment in beta form. This is partly due to the actual RR code, not the skin, but it is to be expected as this tuner is so new. I am working to resolve the known issues which include :
-Presets not saving after entered. (FIXED)
-Station frequency resets when navigating away from the HD menu. (FIXED)
If you can help develop the HD menu further please post your code or solutions. Its not like me to release anything beta but I know that this menu will develop faster if its public.
Here is a quick run through of new features:
-HD radio support
-New art on all menus
-Transparent iList on every list
-Script to install directx7 for iList
-MediaLaunch integrated
-WiFi connect menu
-Working background.skin with preview
-Additions to settings.txt
There are some more small things that are new or have been changed and you can find them all in the _read_me_.txt included in the download. Please read this document as the skin will never work right unless you read what the requirements are, plus there are helpful operation notes.
Have fun with it, tear it apart, love it, hate it, let me know how it works for you.
Without further a due here is the Shock Skin 6.0

EDIT: Forgot to say..thanks for your hard work!
Thanks for this great update. I'm now downloading this skin. Try it afterwards. Again thanks.![]()
I would like to start out saying that you have done a great job with the write up of your install and this skin. So far I was able to test out the HD Radio (Visteon) and no problems here. I did find that when I try to set the background there is no preview showing up. I'm running RR Ver : 12/13/2007 if this helps.![]()
Why buy it if you can build it? Even if it cost twice as much to build.
Tried it last night and followed the instructions the readme, and the skin/RR hung when attempting to enter the background menu. The buttons were also invisable until passed over with the mouse, although I know this is linked into not having selected a default background. Catch 22! Got it working by altering skin.ini to change to my preferred background picture, although this did not solve the crash issue.
Any ideas?
Hey guys make sure that this is in your Exectbl.ini
I'm pretty sure that's what wingnut's problem is,Code:"ONFILECLICK","SETVARBYCODE;imgfilename;LISTTEXT",background.skin
Also here is the important entry in my rr.ini file.
Please note that the variable is backgroundPATH in rr.iniCode:backgroundpath=C:\backgrounds
In skin.ini the skin writes the code as background=c:\backgrounds\1.jpg
Not sure if anyone has the two mixed but once the background menu is configured you do not manually edit skin.ini. The background.skin automatically writes the changes when you switch.
Also delete any resume.ini files in the RR root folder before launching

I'm baffled! I created a ExecTBL.ini within the skin; double checked my backgroundpath; deleted resume.ini but still the list nor the preview show up.
Can anyone else change background from within the skin?
