Need help. transparent _EMPTY files and invisible buttons

I'm in the process of remaking a skin and have 2 questions.

1. I noticed the _EMPTY files are usually gif and have some kind of transparent purple mask when used for pop up menus. How do I apply this mask in Photoshop? My pop up menu shows the corners as opaque and not transparent right now.

2. I'm trying to make a button around the song title. The button is slightly bigger than the text box. When the text is aligned LEFT, the button works perfectly, however when the text is SCROLL-CENTER, I am unable to click except on the very edges where the button is "sticking out". I tried using both B and L types for the button area. Anyway to get this working correctly with SCROLL text?

1. Try changing to a png file maybe?

2. SCROLL-CENTER label alignments have the annoying habit of covering up buttons. If you absolutely have to use SCROLL-<ANYTHING>, add this label to each corresponding buttons:

Thanks for the suggestions.

1. Let me elaborate: I'm not trying to make a transparent skin. On the skins that I have looked at, they have "menu" skins that pop up and do not fill the entire screen and I've noticed that in Photoshop these image have a purple boarder around the edges that becomes transparent when it is used in Roadrunnner. I have drawn a menu that pop ups but I do not know how to apply the purple transparent mask in Photoshop, therefore the corners of my image are not transparent.

2. Things I've tried so far.

defined RATINGSINFO in ExecTBL as:
"RATINGSINFO","Menu;Ratings.skin||CHECKRATED"

No luck. They all produce the same effect of only being able to click along the perimeter. Some of them also stop the text from scrolling.

You forgot the commas at the end of the line.

Thanks for pointing that out. It didn't seem to make a difference. I tried adding just a comma, and also ,"" for the tooltip part. Looks like I might have to just move the button cause I'd rather keep the text scrolling. Nice skin btw, I saw it and immediately thought Audi.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Button codes interfere w/ the EXEC label.
