You need to define iGuidance in RR.ini directly or using the RRconfig tool.

I have a problem with running CarWings on my carpc. I have it installed on my desktop and everything works great, but when I put it on my carpc the "Music" button pegs the cpu at 100% and RR freezes. I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to close it, and then close winamp in the task manager as well. I have uninstalled RR and carwings, as well as winamp and the line in plugin for it, re-downloaded all the newest versions of each and tried again with the same result. The video player works but does not show what is in the directory when i click the folder (it loads but is blank), but if i hit the "New" button it starts playing the first video in the directory. I am at a loss as for what to try. I have also installed flashplayer. Nothing seems to work. Maybe my cpu cannot handle carwings? I have a little valley mobo/cpu combo with the 1.3ghz cpu. 1gig ram.

    Any ideas??

Sounds to me like an iList related issue, make sure you install at minimum directx7, and double check all your settings in rr.ini or rrconfig.exe. I am willing to bet its a configuration error.

Your hardware is fast enough to run carwings, no problem there. I am running a M10000 via (1ghz) and 512 RAM, and carwings is quick and responsive.

The next version is still in the works, I really have not had too much time to work on it but I have not abandoned carwings!

Most of my carPC attention is dedicated to hardware at the moment, as I am manufacturing a production version of my bolt-in carPC which will go on sale after the first model is complete and cost analysis is done.

I am taking summer classes right now 4 days a week so this is taking up a lot of brain power.

To top it all off I have been driving my motorbike a lot since gas is getting to be quite expensive. The bike gets 80mpg while the mustang gets 20mpg. Only thing about riding is there is no carPC or carwings, but with the freedom of 2 wheels I just cruise away.

So to answer your question, I tend to work in waves. As soon as the software wave comes back around it will be released. If I had no intention of releasing an updated version I would not lead everyone on

BTW your transparent overlay menu will be used on a full screen GPS menu, something that carwings 1.0 lacked, and def. needs.

    UPDATE::
I found out the problem with my Music button freezing CarWings so I wanna let people know what it was incase you have the same problem. It was an issue with iList but it was caused by not having the vga drivers installed that came with my mobo. I deleted the iList lines of code and it worked but once I installed my drivers it works even with the code enabled.

If you are having problems CHECK YOUR DRIVERS!!! i tried everything in the book until I realized I hadnt installed the vga driver and that fixed it

build things the rigth way takes time, and when is ready is ready.
also nice to know that overlay made it again in this proyect.

NOTE: are you going to releases the source for the new carwings? im in the process of teaching myself flash, and i would like to give it a try.

I would not consider releasing a skin w/o the source.

That's like giving out keys to a Ferrari that doesn't have an engine!

Could someone tell me how I could change the name of the "Phone" button to "iPod" and then have it so when I click "iPod" it unmutes my line-in and checks to see if my visteon hd radio is playing and turns it off if it is on?

Here's what i want to do.. Have a 3.5mm splitter going into my line-in port, on one branch have an ipod hooked up and on the other the hd radio. But i do not want the hd radio to be playing when i click "ipod" for obvious reasons.. I'm sure its not too hard because when you click "Music" after listening to the radio it shuts down the tuner correct?

Do i need to explain my goal better?

You can change "phone" to "iPod" with the .psd file included in the SDK.

To accomplish what you want you will need to create an iPod menu, and use a separate line in. Simply splitting the line in to two sources is not a good idea for a couple reasons. Use MIC in or CD_IN for the iPod and your idea will work good.

Now the question is: are you trying to control the iPod with RR?
